"My family (2 adults & 2 kids, ages 6 & 9) went on a canoe excursion with the Tug Hill'ers last summer. Launched on a small creek that opened up into a lake/pond. There was lots to see, including green herons and water lilies in full bloom. It was a gorgeous ~2 hour excursion, with lots of great conversation with Em and Chris, who are super knowledgeable about the terrain and wildlife. "If you're looking for an experience in paddling, skiing, hiking or snowshoeing, look no further. You would be hard pressed to find a more accommodating group to get you in a boat or on some skis than Tug Hill Outfitters. Located on a large section of property in Williamstown NY, Tug Hill Outfitters has a ton of trails for hiking or skiing as well as beautiful Fish Creek to paddle on. I've done both there, and by far my favorite activity is paddling. While on the creek you will snake through a variety of environments from wetlands, forest, ponds, and fields. There is even a cool abandon train trestle to check out! Paddling down the creek you will see a large variety of wildlife depending on the time of year you visit, and the guides will be happy to help you identify them all! There is also a Sugar Shack on the property and in the spring you will see steam rising from it turning sap into syrup. If you're lucky, you might even be able to talk them into giving you a sample! I couldn't recommend Tug Hill Outfitters more!!!"
