"Extremely kind, loved the interactions with everyone there and all the workers seemed happy. I believe my technician was Hidalia and she was so kind and talented. I’ve been going here since they started in a hair salon down the block. I’m thankful that their quality stayed excellent and their pricing has become more competitive!! Would 10/10 recommend"
"I have been coming to Flor since 2006. She is incredibly meticulous and her work lasts for weeks! Not only is Flor’s work incredible, she’s a very kind and lovely person. Highly recommend for both gel and regular polish."
"Vero, Patricia and Kei at The Gel Bar SAVED MY WEDDING! Ok maybe I’m being dramatic, but that’s how important my nails are to me for my special day. I had gotten my nails done the day prior at another specialty nail art salon and they gave me a design that didn’t look anything like the one I asked for. I called The Gel Bar in a frantic state and Kei was able to squeeze me in the next day despite having a full day of clients. They went above and beyond, giving my nails the time they needed. Worth every last penny and I’ll definitely be coming back. Thank you Vero for your unbelievable artistry and Patricia for moving things around to accommodate me once I arrived. This bride feels very taken care of. I couldn’t be more happy with my bridal nails!"
"Sandra is a magician - this is by far the best my nails have looked. I wish I had taken a before picture to show what I gave her to work with - it was not much."
"DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to be taken advantage of and charged triple the price for a sub-par service. I expect to pay a premium price for a high-end nail salon in midtown Manhattan, but the prices I paid here were higher than I’ve ever paid for the same services in my life. The manicure itself was lower quality than I’m used to, the decor is minimal, and the staff are not attentive nor do they take care with your nails when handling them. I would not call this place high-end. The first time I came here I was charged $100 for a regular gel manicure with 2 gel extensions to fix broken nails. No designs, nothing fancy. $100. The nail tech added a strengthening gel to my nails which I did not ask for and which cost extra and thickened my nails making them them look lumpy. Not only was this price EXORBITANT for what I got, the manicure took 2 hours and did not look good. The nail shape was not consistent and the polish was too thick. Picture attached. The only reason I came back was to have the polish taken off. I figured because I had come here to get them done it would be free or at least cheaper to have them removed than to go elsewhere (standard practice in my experience). Nope! I PAID $30 TO HAVE MY GEL MANICURE REMOVED. The nail tech didn’t even remove the gel extensions, she just filed them down. I asked her to cut my nails down because a couple had broken and she did without shaping them. When I asked why it would cost $30 to remove a gel manicure, I was told it is typically $10 but $15 when using the machine (which I did not ask for), and that cutting my nails down was considered a manicure which is $20. When I tried to argue and insist I did not receive a manicure, I was told that’s just what they charge. Picture attached of the so-called “manicure”. I won’t be coming back and I do not recommend it when there are plenty of higher quality salons with much cheaper prices and better business practices in any of the NYC boroughs."
