Reviews of New Legacy Apartments
"I lived there for 2 years the first year my rent went up $260 and this last year went up almost another $100 to $1530 but a new tenant can now rent for $1296. Jackie the old manager was amazing but she left and new manager ignores phone calls, letters, and the one and only time I seen her in over a year she was stand offish. My building smells like weed everyday but they are suppose to be non smoking buildings.maintenance men are still very responsive but besides that horrible experience. I would not recommend."
"Rented for one year and initially enjoyed it. After a few months of living there, things took a gradual turn for the worse: pool that won't open due to lack of lifeguards, "fitness center" that was only open during the day (while a majority of people worked), neighbors that became increasingly loud (screaming at their kids or SO), the car break-ins last summer. After moving out, I still haven't gotten my security deposit back. I literally called hundreds of times to the main office and the line would either disconnect or go to voicemail. At this time, I cannot recommend New Legacy Apartments or any other property owned by Barrington Residential."
"I lived there for three years Yes the neighbors were nice . But soon after I left things changed . The pool did not open for 2 years and then open not till July . Really no work out room and no amenities. Plus a lot of dogs now . And the people are not as friendly as before .For the price I wouldn’t not recommended"
"My husband and I lived here for almost 5 years. At first it was great. Management didn’t bother us, neighbors were friendly but didn’t bother us if we didn’t want to talk, and maintenance was fast. The property manager, Jackie, was amazing. She gave us a lease that was for 18 months instead of 12 so our rent stayed consistent and when it went up it was for $50. Then the new owners bought the complex and it wasn’t the same. Rent started to go up $150, there were safety inspections every 3 months, they put these ugly can-looking things above the stoves to extinguish a potential stove fire (which is good but they were so ugly), they made a few more updates to make things “better” but it just was an inconvenience and an excuse for the owners to jack the price up. Through it all, Jackie and maintenance staff were amazing and super responsive and accommodating. Then in the fall, our lease renewal was due, they were going to raise rent $250. When we moved in, it was $995, and it would have been $1486, so we decided to buy a house. We talked to Jackie and she was able to keep our rent the same so we were able to sign for another year while looking for a house. When we finally got a house, Jackie told us to break the lease we would just need to pay an extra months rent. She went above and beyond for us tenants and tired so hard to keep these apartments our home and not just a place we lived. When we actually were ready to move out, Jackie was no longer there and the new manager said it was 2 months rent. Thankfully, she allowed us to stick to the original deal with just paying the 1 month. This was a great place to live for a long time. Apartments were nice, manager was great, maintenance workers were amazing, and we were left alone, but, things are changing and it seems like the owners are causing more and more issues and making it not worth it anymore. I recommend this place but I have no idea what kind of place it is going to turn into now that Jackie is gone and the owners are these greedy, out of touch, people. The staff make this place great but they can only do so much when the owners make the real decisions. It’s also been a month since we moved out and we haven’t heard anything about our deposit refund, and every time we call, no one answers."
"I lived there for a couple of years. Moved out 11/21. My apartment was nice enough, my immediate neighbors great, and issues generally handled pretty quickly. Towards the end of my residency there, some of the people moving in were more than a little sketchy. I guess guaranteed income? Our building stayed pretty consistent but almost everyday someone was moving in or out. My rent was going to go up again so I decided to buy a place. I just ran into another previous tenant. He said that really jacked up the rent and took out the pool. Well, we hadn’t had a pool for almost 2 years anyway. Always said the could not find lifeguards. I could not find any ads that showed they were looking. Every other complex seemed to manage to find one. I looked at the web page and found rent rates listed from like1500-2000 month. When I left I was paying 1300+ My advice, if you’re going to pay that much to rent , head down the street to The Landings. . Now those are luxury apartments."
