Not only were their paint prices lower than their competitors, but the woman and tall gentleman both took time to offer tips and advice for prepping the walls and applying paint."

"Arrived at 4:57 on a Saturday (they close and 5 and are closed on Sundays ) to grab some patch swatches- knew color range etc. Door already locked. I knocked as employees inside. They refused to open the door. I explained all I needed was to grab a few swatches- would take less than 2 minutes, no need for register etc. He refused. It’s too bad. I have bought paint there over past 9 years but will not again."

"This is by far the best place to buy paint in the Downtown Brooklyn area. The staff is genuinely helpful and just a pleasure to do business with. Make sure to open an account to receive discounts, which can make the sometimes high seeming list price of their paints more economical. They also have a lot essential home improvement supplies like outlet covers and cleaners, and finishes for wood and floors. The prices for there accessories are comparable to the big box competition too! A note on Benjamin Moore paints- The products are generally thicker than comparable Sherwin Williams or other paints, which leads to a very deep luminous finish. However, this will also make the paint harder to apply without gumming up for people accustomed to spreading thinner paints more quickly. Do yourself a favor and buy an extender."

"What a great experience and pleasant break from the usual NYC version of "customer service"! I went to Mazzone over the weekend looking for some paint and painting supplies. The woman who helped me was friendly, efficient, and helped me find exactly what I needed without trying to sell me stuff I didn't. The tall gentleman was very friendly also. I will 100% return here in the future for other hardware needs (this location isn't just paint) even though it's a 20 minute walk from home and there are several other hardware stores closer to me. The experience was that good (and maybe the others are just that bad). Thank you, Mazzone!"
