"Hallak Cleaners did an amazing job on my Max Mara coat. It was very overdue for a clean and was returned in pristine condition and more, with noticeable attention to detail. They even went ahead and re-sewed the inner lining that was starting to come undone. Would 10/10 recommend them if you have precious clothing that you cherish and needs some extra care, they will be in good hands. A dry cleaning worth the investment and the trip from Brooklyn! Thank you!"
"Hallak does an exceptional job. Certainly not inexpensive but worth every cent for special clothes. I have taken in 20 year old garments and received them back looking brand new! And they are brilliant with restoring sweaters to their former size and texture ."
"When you have something that you treasure and it needs cleaning due to a stain or to preserve a dress or suit, it may be more costly than most - but take it from a former fashion director at numerous magazines- they’re the best!"
"Asked the guy at the counter how much to clean a regular business shirt. Was told it would be $20 per shirt. Astonished, I asked them to clarify that I only wanted it cleaned and pressed. Such a grossly inflated price for something that is a reasonably standard item available at other cleaners for a fifth of their quoted price."
"Edited: Although the person I was first in touch with handled the situation I described below completely horribly and inappropriately, the Hallak team did come through for me and rectify everything in the end (and I do mean team - the owner, the managers, and multiple tailors were all on hand working with me to get my dress fixed and ready in time). The morning after the issue arose, I received an email apologizing and refunding me, and also spoke with someone who apologized as well and worked with me to figure out how to get the dress fixed in time. I brought the dress back in, and they were able to (mostly) fix the structure of the bow, as well as fix a tack that had been improperly placed by another tailor, and they also took the dress in for me - all complimentarily. Of course, I would have preferred not to have been stressed out over this or had to spend my time running back and forth to the tailor the morning that I was leaving for my wedding, but what matters is that they recognized their mistakes, apologized, fixed them, and were generous with providing additional services unrelated to their errors free of charge. My dress ended up looking beautiful and I received nonstop compliments on it. Thank you, Hallak! Original post: What a scam. Paid $120 to have one small part of my dress for my wedding pressed in a way that would add volume like it was supposed to have but this particular one didn’t have. Not only did they NOT DO THAT AT ALL, but they stuffed tissue paper into a part that was supposed to be a flat structured bow standing upright and ruined the entire design of the $800 dress. This was even after I left them with a picture of exactly what it was supposed to look like and what it was I was asking them to do. I never said a single thing about touching the bow. When I called them to let them know what happened they wouldn’t do anything because no one was there anymore (sorry but for those prices, you should go out of your way regardless of business hours when you’ve ruined someone’s garment for their wedding that they’re leaving for the next day) and only put me through to a voicemail that wouldn’t be answered til the next morning. Save your money. Go elsewhere and get significantly better service. Oh and before they respond and say they can’t find me in their system, it’s because they also got my name wrong and wrote it as OINON. Very thorough and strong attention to detail happening at this place."
