"Great trail down to Hemlock; Really well maintained, and didn’t see another soul on the trail or the lake. Undeveloped lakeshore is such a rare gem. Water is really clear. (Only comment would be to cut out some of those invasive vines that inevitably strangle and fell large trees)."
"Fantastic trail down to the lake. About an 800 foot elevation change. If you don't like mud avoid going in the spring. Nice big parking lot."
"We took the trail to Hemlock Lake. You can also go to Canadice Lake. This is a nice easy to moderate hike for those not in peak shape (the all uphill return to the car in the heat made me glad we had plenty of water). We took our 11 yo husky who was happy to play in the water. The trail is well marked and worn so it is easy to follow."
"It's a wonderful hike down to Hemlock or Canadice Lake. There are 2 different trails, both descending down to their respective lakes. The hike down to Hemlock has a couple of foot bridges and and a water crossings, some with waterfalls depending on the time of year. Once you get down to the lake it's peaceful and quiet, what more could you ask for?!"
"Very nice hike. Down to the lake shore and back was a little over 3.5 miles. The change in elevation is moderate, coming back up provided a nice little work out. The snow was deep enough that we could have used snow shoes, but we opted for micro- spikes instead. The hike was made easier by utilizing hiking poles also. The wooded scenery is very pretty. The lake was not frozen over, the water is crystal clear, there was a moderate fog enveloping the South end and the surrounding hills. The highlight was when two large, majestic, Bald Eagles soared fairly low overhead- what a fantastic sight! I will definitely return to this trail, really enjoyed it. I would recommend for any hiker in average shape, also recommend for children and dogs."
