"Our family has had the pleasure of having Selvin come to our home and do wonderful repair work (which had been left undone and in slipshod condition by another contractor) on our basement. He is dynamite and is a master craftsman of his trade! Previously, before knowing Selvin, I also hired a carpenter to make for me a three-row bookcase display (the back row stationary and the first two rows sliding), a total of nineteen bookshelves. That worker left me high and dry after completing only one and a half rows and gave up on the project. Selvin took on this challenging task and immediately knew what had to be done with regard to the moving rows. He replaced the original two ground tracks (that each row had) with only one stating that if two remained there would be more of a chance of the bookcases to fall off track. In addition, he created an upper track having the support beams carry most of the weight (and not the ground tracks which the former carpenter had done). Absolutely brilliant on his part. I imagine that Selvin probably has pictures of this work on his website. If not, he is more than welcome to stop by my home, take some professional photos that would give the bookcases due justice, and post them. Selvin is courteous, respectful, honest, polite, hardworking, and a gentleman. He stands by his work and provides his clients with a great deal of comfort and satisfaction of the final product. "CON man, not CONTRACTOR. I see too many handymen like Selvin at SFJ call themselves contractors, come into Brooklyn due to the high demand and take advantage of people. Take their money, do sloppy work and never finish. Do not recommend!"

"We thought we met someone who could help us. He did not. What he did was: he was not punctual, ever. His work is not neat, He attempts jobs that he may not have any experience doing. The worst part was that he promised to help us, and then when it was critical for him to show up, he decided he didn’t want to finish our job and left us hanging to where we had to get another contractor to finish. He wouldn’t return our phone calls either. We were always paying him on time or a couple of times we paid him in advance. Poor workmanship and Dishonest."
