"This place should be torn down . It has so many violations the rats and bedbugs are just the tip of the iceberg. The management is scamming DSS using it as an emergency shelter, renting out 35 rooms when only allowed 20 . Run from this place as fast as you can!"

"No stars for the facility at all. It's true that there are bedbugs. Now it makes total sense why there's piles of personal belongings outside and at the bottom of the stairs inside. Because they have to hang onto it for a certain amount of time by law but no one wants to carry bedbugs from there to their next destination; they say hind sights 20/20 though."

"The Elks Place is located downtown, I am a evangelist enjoying my stay in this historical 1940’s rooming hotel. I just relocated from another state, I like the rent utilities included. Great location for independent singles, college students or someone trying to relocate in Rochester N. Y on a budget or trying to save money to acquire the foundation of basic living. Elks place is surrounded by essentials Family dollar, library, YMCA, Tops Market , restaurant and hotels, barber shops/ beauty salons. RTS transit, greyhound, Amtrak, Post Office, Salvation Army,Department of Social Services, Eastman School of Music; and for the price living downtown in this hotel is what you make out of it. Amen!"
