Reviews of Daryl Roth Theatre
"Went to see Titanique with my wife and was very happy with the storyline and performance of the cast. located near Union Square this Small theater housed in a historic building that’s well over 100 years old gives you a more personal upfront experience. The show was funny and cleverly written and executed. Very talented group of performers with a few of them having amazing voices. Must see!!! Will recommend."
"The show was what I hoped for and a whole lot more. Titanique is a must see for anyone who loves Broadway and musicals and laughing. The theater was easy to find and a wonderful experience. We got tickets at the last minute and sat right near the stage. Packed house. Great venue. great show."
"TITANIQUE - a chest thumping, Celine loving, comedic gem December '23 The cast was great. Each actor carried off their role expertly, and "Celine" as the headliner was perfect - the tour conductor aka Tina Turner aka Tyra Banks - chef's kiss. Comedic timing on point all the way around. Energy and enthusiasm of the production rubbed off on the audience. Off broadway production with under 300 seats. Sound quality and acoustics were very good. Row F center allowed us to see the action on stage and follow the characters when they performed along the runway that was behind the first few rows. Great spot. The rows go up to R but for us a lot of extra laughs came from the facial expressions so the back rows wouldn't have been the best for us: (Maury is that an eggplant she's holding???) Set design was limited but more than enough as the characters and script were so good. Even the live 3 piece band was included in the play and the electric guitar was a great solo surprise. Lots of nice restaurants closeby for a pre theatre dinner. Come early if you have to have drinks/snacks at the theatre- the line up was 30 ppl long with 5 minutes before the curtain. Do you have to be familiar with the movie Titanic? Noooo Do you have to be familiar with Celine's songs/persona? Noooo Would you enjoy it so much more if you did? Yassss! Why else would you laugh every time they called out to Victor Garber? or crack up when they split a Little Tykes car in half for a love scene? Btw phones and photos are allowed for a couple of minutes at the end for social media posting so that's always something the audience appreciates. The true test of its laugh-o-metre is that my 29 year old friend said "I have to come back with the guys - it's hilarious!" They've never said that about any Broadway or Off-Broadway show we've ever seen."
"Really nice theater. Small, but really great staff and logistics. It’s cold in there so have layers!"
"Great venue and even better show! Go see the talented cast of Titanique! Jackie Burns has a vocal range that will make you clutch your pearla. I wanted Chani Maisonet, to sing in every scene. Willam Belli, is delightful start to finish. Drew Drowge’s comedic timing is a master class. You’ll LOL more than you think possible. 10’s! 10’s! 10’s, across the board!"
