"Always a great hike at Whetstone State park! The trails are reasonably marked,challenging and beautiful. They offer lifeguard swimming,picnic tables,bathrooms,and camping."

"Stopped at Whetstone gulf on the way to the Adirondacks and hiked the north rim trail with my pup. It was a beautiful day and I checked the hemlock trees for signs of hemlock wooly adelgid (white fuzz). Thankfully there were none."

"Did the whole loop. Started out on the South trail and looped back in on the North. The beginning of the south trail is a very steep incline (16-20%) for a quarter mile. Having said that, I think hitting that incline first thing and doing the smaller down hills separated by platueas on the way back along the North trail made for a great hike. I really enjoyed the woodland walk, the views of the gorge, and the waterfall. It can get buggy in spots, but if you keep moving, it wasn't bad that day. We stopped for a quick lunch (tuna wraps) and the 5.5 mile trail took just under 4 hrs at a comfortable walking pace."

"Absolutely gorgeous hike thru moderate elevation gain. Couldn't have been happier with the atmosphere and views. Saw a few other hikers but otherwise quiet and calm."

"Beautiful area, great views in multiple locations on both North and South trails. Trails are mostly easy, some may consider the ends moderate difficulty. Most of the elevation change is near the park enterence end of the trails if hiked in a loop."
