Reviews of Off-Monroe Players
"This is a very community friendly group that specializes in Gilbert and Sullivan. Their new location in the Downtown United Presbyterian Church is a welcome upgrade from the previous location. Always free admission to fun productions."
"So great to see Rochester's Gilbert and Sullivan troop back on stage. Wonderful production of Very Truly Yours. We miss some 'old' familiar faces but quickly became enamored with some new ones. Nice venue too"
"I love this theater company! They produce a couple Gilbert & Sullivan musicals every year, and they do them very well. They have a large company of regular performers for leads and the chorus; auditions are held for speaking roles, but anyone can join the chorus and be part of the fun. One of the great aspects of this group is that shows are free and open to the public. Reservations online are recommended, as they draw very large crowds and have a loyal following. Donations are accepted, on a pay what you can deal, and they will never turn anyone away for lack of funds. Additionally, to raise enough money to keep the company going (remember, the tickets are FREE) they have a large snack bar with lots of amazing goodies to purchase. Your sweet tooth will be well satisfied, no matter what your preference, and it's all for a good cause. This is just good clean family entertainment, and after a few shows, you'll be tempted to sing along with the large numbers. Don't worry, no one will judge!"
"Good live theatre with very good production. Singing can be drowned out by the orchestra. Some performances interpreted in ASL; see web site."
"Family friendly theater with no admission fee (donations accepted). Rochester's Gilbert and Sullivan repertoire theater for 40 years."
