"The Hyatt Place exceeded my expectations. My room was quiet, with a comfortable bed and a small sofa and desk. The large window brought in plenty of light. The bathroom is somewhat compact but has good water pressure and a reasonably-sized shower. The front desk and bell staff were always friendly and did their best to be helpful and accommodating, and World of Hyatt status is recognized. I had no trouble getting an elevator whenever I needed one, but during peak times they do fill up. The breakfast buffet can be very crowded, with lines forming to get food and beverages, but I found a space to sit without much difficulty. The food is not fancy but a variety of hot and cold breakfast staples are offered. The hotel is only a few blocks from multiple subway lines, and a short walk to Times Square, many theaters, Hudson Yards, and Penn Station. I believe the hotel provided good value."
"This hotel was absolutely perfect for us. We drove in from NJ and parked at Port Authority. It was such a quick walk to the hotel. We were greeted by a hotel staff member, holding the door open for us because it was raining. They directed us to the front desk which was an easy check-in process. I found the rooms to be very clean and a bit spacious compared to some of the hotel rooms, I have stayed in NYC. We had breakfast the following morning, which is included in the room rate. I was pleasantly surprised it was not your typical Continental breakfast. This was definitely an enhanced breakfast compared to some of the other hotels, we have stayed. The located of hotel was also great! We could easily walk to the theater district, great restaurants, and shopping. Upon check-out, we were lucky enough to get Rosa who initially checked us in. She remembered us and with a big smile asked us how our stay was, I like that personal touch. I highly recommend this hotel. My only recommendation would be just head down to breakfast on the earlier side just to avoid the crowd."
"We needed a place centrally located to Penn Station and the Port Authority as we were coming from LI and NJ for a friend's birthday weekend. This hotel was perfect and Rosa at the front desk was a rock star, lots of personality AND efficiency. Jessica (who I later found out was a manager) was sweet and accommodating. Our room was super clean, I never find that in the city, so I was thankful, and our room was perfect. We were on the top floor-we had great water pressure(a biggie for me), our room was super clean, and the pillows were great. I loved the room and it seemed bigger than most in the city-or they used the space more wisely. We saw Italo was cleaning the lobby and had a great big smile. He was a pleasure to speak to during our stay and was helpful. The vibe was great, there were people from all over the country and the world and I would definitely go back there. We were two couples celebrating my girlfriend's birthday and they put an amenity in her room when they heard-talk about WOW service. Thank you again for a great weekend!"
"I’ve stayed in a few hotels nearby for work, and have stayed at this Hyatt Place once before. The rates, amenities and room sizes are similar to most hotels in the area. I called before my stay to ask some detailed questions since I would be on site so long. Kevin was knowledgeable about what was available, and he was also patient, direct, and honest. Those are some of the most valuable characteristics in any customer service role, and they can’t be taught. The day I checked in I met Kevin at the front desk and it was another great interaction. I mentioned that he had helped me over the phone earlier, and he then proceeded to create a fun and welcoming experience. The place has its quirks like any busy hotel. I have had positive interactions with a few other staff members, and they set out paper sacks with a piece of fruit, water, and a snack bar for folks who go into work before breakfast opens. This spot is great for people who come to NYC for work and keep odd hours. It’s probably not great for large families or people who travel with truckloads of luggage."
