"My wife and I come to NY to visit our daughter but don't want to burden her with putting us up. We like to just stay close and have stayed at other B&B's but were never fully satisfied with our accommodations. That all changed after finding the Blue Porch. After researching the Blue Porch we thought we'd give it a try this time seeing as the location was central to where we wanted to be located and it had great reviews. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean and well-appointed the home was for B&B guests. Trudy and Paul are wonderful hosts, greeting us at the door as if we were close friends. We certainly felt that way when we left. Our stay in their lovely home filled with amazing antiques and history was just a joy. Every detail to make us feel comfortable was certainly well thought out. Our room was very large with many windows and so comfortable. I must say for NY it was quiet as can be. No noise complaints here. The A/C worked well and was quiet, the queen bed was very comfortable and even had ironed sheets! A large closet with plenty of hangers and ironing board was a plus, as well as plenty of helpful literature for visiting the NY area, was available. I can't say enough how spotlessly clean this home is. The private bath is no exception. It has been completely renovated and has everything you need to feel at home. Two vanities and a wonderful shower/bath helped make the stay feel like home. Thick bath towels were so welcome. There are also extra towels available. We came downstairs in the morning to be greeted by not only a sumptuous breakfast but the presentation of such was absolutely amazing. Trudy thinks of everything. A joy to see and way more than we could ever eat. I am a coffee connoisseur and I must say Paul makes every effort to make morning coffee just as you like it. He did not disappoint. It was absolutely spectacular. Trudy and Paul are wonderful friendly people and go way out of their way to make your stay comfortable and pleasant in every detail. Why go to a hotel when you can have this kind of hospitality and friendly attention at a fraction of the price? We look forward to our next visit to NY and definitely will stay at the Blue Porch. I HIGHLY recommend. You won't be disappointed."
