"Just wanted a room for Xmas a few days, to soak in a tub, read, and gamble like a fool. NO TUBS. So women must wear shower caps that dampen and flatten hair, if they just want to freshen up and go drop a few thousand on the floor? Sorry for those who spend tons on hairdressers... so didn't stay overnights, but place is an awesome stay for gaming and eating, and everyone everywhere are just the best. It is beautiful, relaxing, and well located. We live minutes away and love it. Would recommend it to anyone to come and be entertained... or stuffed with good food!"
"The Landing Hotel was a o e night stop over on our way home. A little off the beat and path but economically doable. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff that turned into a robotic speech regarding the standard hotel policies. The room was really nice. Spacious, bright, and decorated with a modern touch of classic. The bed was very comfortable, and the black out curtains were helpful to allow us to sleep in."
"As I was trying to construct this review, I read another review that covered some of what we experienced. Our room was obtained as part of a block of rooms for a wedding. We could set aside the annoying $50 charge for early check-in, but we could not let go the experience that we had on Sunday after the wedding. Many of us (most of us over 55 - not kids) were at the bar in the lobby enjoying ourselves with laughter and conversation. The bar was closing, which was evident by the fact that they were wiping the bar down and removing the alcohol. Not a problem, as we knew this was going to happen and we didn't care. However, shortly thereafter, with no announcement that the bar was closing, or that they wanted us to vacate the space, three goons zeroed in on my brother, and cousin threatening to call the cops. We asked why and we were repeatedly told "We don't have to tell you. You are visibly drunk". They also prevented my sister - in a very rude way - from going to the casino to cash in her voucher. What they did here was not only create a situation that didn't exist, but they contributed to its escalation. So, I will reiterate the excerpt below from another unhappy guest whose situation was different but expressed my thoughts perfectly. "On several occasions a male working the front desk bizarrely reprimanded us while our kids were harmlessly playing with the Jenga blocks. We paid the same $350 a night as everyone else so it was extremely off-putting to be the target of his comments. His level of hospitality was non- existent, and he should not be working at a hotel. It was one of those experiences where you look back and scratch your head trying to figure out what the issue was.""
"We stay at this hotel at least 10 times throughout June -September This summer at least 3 and maybe 4 stays the ac went out during the night Once they had to move us at 2am another time they came 3 times to fix in the middle of the night - this last time it was sticky but September so not as hot as the earlier summer stays so we waited til morning to call - they came to fix and stopped working within 1 hour We called and they wanted to send some one up again but we were showering and declined At front desk the clerk proceeds to say she cannot comp any thing off a $260 room because we “declined” maintenance to come in while showering DO NOT DECLINE ASSISTANCE or they do nothing for you Just to note the first 2 or 3 times this summer this happened we did not ask for anything but this last time was just 1 too many MARRIOTT across the parking lot is looking better and better."
"I reserved a block of rooms at the Landing for my June wedding. I had approximately 20 guest rooms in addition to two suites for my husband and myself, for 2 nights. I wasn't very impressed with the group sales representative. There was some miscommunication regarding the booking deadline, that I felt like could have been handled because it was an understandable mistake... NOPE. Then I reached out to the group sales person because due to time constraints with check-in my wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner I need to put my dress in my suite two hours earlier than regular check-in. The group salesperson wasn't able to help me and referred me to the front desk. So, I went to the hotel in person to ask if it was possible to get an early check-in. They charged me and additional $50 on a room that I was already paying $600+ for. I was checking in on a Thursday. So, the odds that anyone had slept in this $600+ room on a Wednesday night was slim. They didn't even check to see if the room needed to be cleaned, they just charged me $50. My husband had a Junior Suite that was $300+ per night, and I didn't see the difference between his room and a regular guest room. The ONLY ice machine in the hotel is on the first floor! I thought that was odd and inconvient. All in all, considering the amount of money that my wedding party and I spent at the Landing Hotel, I just didn't feel as though my business was appreciated. I definitely would not recommend this hotel for wedding blocks, and I won't be staying here again."
