Ace Hotel New York

"The small rooms are VERY small. It felt somewhat rundown, which made you feel like it was not super clean, even though I wouldn't say it was super dirty. The shower, if you can even call it that was horrendous. with the curtain closed, I had about 24 inches of space to shower in, and the blowing curtain would touch your naked body the entire time. Not to mention the drain was practically plugged, and the tiny bath basin would fill up with your dirty shower water. It just felt gross, and I didn't even want to shower really. The hotel is VERY dark. It's pretty disconcerting. The service was good, but I did get my phone charger taken out of my room. I think it was likely accidental. (Picked up with sheets or something) but, it was a big pain. Overrall, it wasn't terrible, but, not great either. If I had a choice, I wouldn't stay here again."

"Super fun spot. Great bar and lobby area. Lots of people just pop into the lobby area to grab coffee and work from laptops. In the evening, nice spot to grab a drink before heading out on the town. NoMad is a great area. Close to many bars and restaurants. Only knock is that the rooms are very small, but that's what you expect when you stay in a boutique NYC hotel. Rooms are funky though and clean."

"Nice location, beautiful building, run down rooms. Be aware of room #222 which is tiny and has a window towards the underbelly of a huge air condition unit in the backyard. The noise is like inside an engine room. Other rooms are old, run down, and badly furnished. For example there is a vinyl player ... but then that player is broken and judging from all that dust it hasn't been used or cleaned in years. Service is super friendly and trying to do their best. Overall the hotel is dimly lit."

"A brilliant hotel! Such big rooms! Lovely gym! Lobby superb for co-work and informal meetings. Great bar at the lobby too. Location is central and fun, but not on the over crowded streets. Great views of the Empire State Building was a nice surprise. Really enjoying my stay here for a conference and business meetings in town."

"I love staying at the Ace! The vibes is great. I’m a minimalist so I don’t need a lot. A clean room with a good bed is all I ask for. Everything was clean and comfortable. Only complaints were the heater in my room was way too aggressive for the size. Mid December and I had to turn the heat off entirely to keep the room under 80 degrees. Also be warned that the lighting situation is pretty dim in the rooms."
