Reviews of Hyatt Place New York/Midtown-South
"I normally travel with a total of 6. Finding rooms which can accommodate 6 people can be difficult and expensive. Everything in new York is expensive already. This has to be the smallest room for 6 people I have ever seen. I appreciate that the rooms are small but happy that the beds were queens. There was about 9 inches to scoot between the end of the sleeper sofa and the bottom of the beds. The breakfast was good, the people I interacted with were friendly, room was clean. Location was about 0.4 miles from time square. Odd shaped hotel. Super tall and skinny with only 8 rooms per floor and 26 floors. We had a nice view if the empire State building. You can also go to the roof terrace."
"Budget hotel in a central location, ideal for a visit to Manhattan. My room had a great view over Midtown. The room was comparatively large, had a coffee maker, a safe and a couch. The TV was a little older, but big enough. The bed was comfortable. I can highly recommend the breakfast. I was impressed by the selection and variety. The team was also very nice. However, I have two points of criticism: My room was not sufficiently soundproofed. Noise could be heard both from the street and from the corridor. This is important for anyone who is a light sleeper. Also, the Wi-Fi was unfortunately not very fast and kept disconnecting."
"Hotel staff were cheerful, polite, and helpful when needed. Breakfast was OK, nothing amazing, but it ticked the box for what we needed. Hotel rooms again were a tight fit for x4 kids and two adults, but we made it work. Location is fantastic, just one street away from Macys and loads of great bars and restaurants outside. Would highly recommend"
"We had THE best time! Thank you to Josh at the reception desk, you're a gem! The location is perfect (1 minute walk to Macy's, 10 minutes to Times Square). The rooms and hallways were super clean, breakfast was delicious and plentiful (everyone is so attentive and makes sure all food selections are always restocked). I definitely recommend getting a room on a higher level (we were on the 20th floor and had the most amazing view of the Empire State building from our bed!). We will definitely be back!"
"Stayed for 5 nights in Sept and right from check in it was a great experience. The hotel was very clean and tidy and the service by all the staff was great. The Room was a very nice size, with a view of the top of the empire state building which was great. The bed was very comfortable, bathroom very clean as was the rest of the room and we had a fridge which very helpful, everything we needed was made available. Room was serviced everyday which was appreciated. A lovely comfortable room to come back to after a long day out sightseeing! Location of the hotel was perfect too. There were plenty of places to eat and shop right on the doorstep and Times Square was only a 5-10 minute walk away. There was also a subway station around the corner which made travelling around NYC so easy and cheap. Breakfast was pretty good too, limited in choice however it was nice and was enough to have in a morning to set us up for the day. It was nice to have the option of take out bags too so we could take fruit and muffins away with us. The breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful too. The breakfast room wasn't the biggest so definitely fills up, but thankfully we never had too much trouble getting a table for 2 but I'd suggest getting up for breakfast earlier so you can get a table. Overall a great stay and I really enjoyed my time in NYC and at this hotel. Highly recommended and I'd definitely look at staying here again when I visit NYC again."
