Rodeway Inn & Suites New Paltz - Hudson Valley

"It's impossible for delivery drivers to find this place, especially those who don't know how to use their common sense. Why drive back and forth by a location 10 times, while I clearly put the name of the hotel at the top of my order, and yet the driver didn't think to at least check some of the motels he kept passing. Other than that, don't stay anywhere else. MOST COMFORTABLE NEW BEDS AND ROOMS YOU WILL FIND!!! I'M a choice diamond member and don't stay any where else as I'm not wealthy and can't afford Hilton. I've stayed in hundreds of comfort and quality inns all over the east coast. THIS HOTEL FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT AND ORDERED THE MOST COMFORTABLE BEDS I'VE EVER SLEPT IN! GET HERE NOW! PRICES ARE WORTH IT."

"Out of a hundred inns across the East Coast this was the worst. Bloody awful! Read on. The overall feeling of dinginess permeated the gloomy hallway as we made our way to our reservation. The impression that some of these rooms were low income long-term, & others were hourly (ew) also hung in the dank air as we passed trash bags left out for pickup. I've never enjoyed seeing that but it's not uncommon with low-end stays. We enter our room & the tired furniture slumping on threadbare carpet greets us wearily. As always we do our preliminary inspection. Checking for bedbugs & other pests is a must; lift the mattress, roll down sheets, look inside pillowcases, etc. The moment we pull back the bedcover we can already see the massive bloodstains! This has happened to us before, but that was during covid & the understaffed hotel made it right. How could any housekeep put these back into rotation?? You can't afford to replace your sheets? Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you? If this was passable, good Lord I can only imagine what other cleaning practices are feigned & lacking. We document everything & go get the manager. He seems mildly concerned, but perhaps more inconvenienced than anything. We are offered another room. That room too had stained sheets & overworn bedding, though not nearly as awful. It's now midnight. We are grossed out, tired, & not willing to pay $90 to risk catching an STD or illness. We ask for a discount & clean sheets. And this is where Rodeway earns the -1 star review; he says no, & holds the door for us to pack up & leave. As of yet our refund has still not cleared at the bank, though they did ensure it would be issued. There was a second $99 charge that was strange as well. We ended up at the Hampton Inn and it was glorious by comparison, but, as you know, you get what you pay for. Good luck if you choose to stay here."

"The room seemed to have been renovated lately and they were clean. They were also pretty spacious. There was a microwave and a coffeemaker in the room, but you can also get (kinda good) coffee in the lobby. The staff were efficient and polite, so no complaints from my side. The only thing was, that there weren't a lot of choices to eat, so we had to drive to the nearest town. A minor inconvenience as it was pretty nice otherwise."

"I have a friend who stays there frequently. I stayed there once and was charged a " cleaning deposit" that would be refunded " after inspecting the room at checkout." Upon checkout, the desk clerk seemed confused about it. I question this because my friend has never been charged a deposit, before or since. Are they charging only female senior citizens? I got my refund and I have no other complaints, but this made me feel like they expected some type of criminal behavior from me."

"Pretty nasty, would not stay there again. Were forced to book this place because everything else was already booked for parents weekend at the college. Rooms are very outdated, furniture is all beat up. Old and looks like it hasn’t been painted or remodeled in at least 40 years. There are random prices of furniture scattered around the parking lot. Looks like a run down motel rented by the hour and to that point we were woken up in the middle of the night by a very loud couple next door. Walls are very thin! Thank god our son chose to stay at the dorm with his sibling and wasn’t there to hear this. Will never go back and hope you do yourselves a favor and stay away."
