Reviews of Sawkille
"Incredible design and craft. Finest quality and attention to detail. So, worth the time and price for heirloom quality furniture. Where function meets art. Thank you so much for my Penn Chairs!"
"We are so happy with our stools from Sawkille! Once my wife and I decided to embark on a daunting kitchen remodel, we knew we wanted to incorporate some of their pieces from the get go. After visiting their inspiring and curated showroom in Rhinebeck we knew right away the tall stools we’re going to work perfectly for our island bar seating. Their classic look with a modern finish was exactly what we were going for, something that gets better with age and never goes out of style. After communicating with the sales team and designers the process was pretty straight forward and we had them by the time the remodel was done. Our Sawkille stools are now a favorite spot to unwind in our open plan kitchen, we’re very pleased."
"I rarely post reviews unless my experience is utterly blissful or utterly abysmal. Sawkille was the latter. My wife and I happened upon their showroom and the woodworking is beautiful. We fell in love with their Millstream bed and the counter-height chairs. The sales people were a pleasure to deal with. Unfortunately, once we provided payment, it immediately morphed into a different experience. When we placed the order, we were quoted a price and we proceeded to pay in full as requested. The order was not finalized as we needed to pick the colors and materials for our chairs. A few days later, my wife received a call stating that there will be a shipping charge of $1000. We live in NYC, not terribly far from Rhinebeck and hence we were flabbergasted at the shipping charge. Why was this not included in the original quote? Why were we only notified after? And why such a high shipping price? Keep in mind, I've received furniture from Italy for $2000 shipping and Chicago for less than $400. So hence, the quoted shipping charge left us with a negative impression. We decided to cancel due to the change in contract (please read your contract if you decide to purchase as it has a clause for no cancellations). We were then told that the order was already started and the materials purchased, yet, we never finalized on materials. Head scratcher for me. We decided to proceed as we could attempt to fight with our credit card company, but it would take 8 - 12 weeks for any type of decision. With a 5 figure purchase and funds tied, we werent left with many options. Finally the day of delivery but there was no Certificate of Insurance provided to my management. We called Sawkille and were informed that we would need to pay an additional $150 for the CoI. To say that this was shocking and "left a bad taste in our mouths" was putting it very mildy. I've received multiple large deliveries for our renovation and never have we been charged a fee for a CoI. In addition, when I spoke with the delivery drivers, they were already issuing the CoI from their brokers to our management. Hence why are we being asked for a $150 upcharge? I hope that those who purchase Sawkille's beautiful products, do not have the same very negative experience I did."
