"I’ve been going to Liz Sue bagels for years- it’s been my go-to for bagels. I’m not exactly sure what happened though, but the taste has changed, for the worse. I don’t think I’m the only one experiencing this. Other reviews here have noted a “fishy” or “metallic” taste, but for me and my family, we’ve felt the bagels have a strange “dishwater” type after-taste which is obviously not very appealing. It’s been like this for multiple visits over a few months and it’s the same at both Stamford and Norwalk locations. Because of the bad taste, we have stopped coming here for bagels. What’s causing this?? Please go back to the original bagels so we can come back!"
"Bagel options are scarce in Stamford, and Liz Sue does a good job overall - however the quality of service various widely from employee to employee. For instance, the man with a “DJ my DJ” hat on put barely any cream cheese on my bagel the past 3 times I’ve gone. Overall, good bagels (also BEC sandwiches), but some of the staff leave a lot to be desired"
"So good! Got the Perro Grande which is avocado, eggs, chorizo sausage, jalapeño and pepper jack cheese. The staff ensure that the bagel was made to my liking and the filling was so satisfying I was full the whole day. The bagel was also fresh and good quality. Love this local spot!"
"I usually enjoy above-average bagels at this spot, considering the limited options in Stamford. However, my recent visit left me disappointed due to a noticeable fishy taste in both my bacon egg and cheese sandwich and my wife's strawberry cream cheese bagel. It seems like a mix-up with lox, possibly from shared preparation areas. I appreciate a good lox, but not when it's unintentionally included in unrelated items. Hope they address this for better food safety."
"Better off getting bagels elsewhere. In my opinion they have an odd metallic like taste to them. Additional they’re sandwiches are dreadful. The eggs appear to be powdered, the sandwich itself microwaved, and the bacon feels as if it were pure salt. I felt unwell all day after eating it."
