Yoko’s Daycare

"We used Yoko’s Daycare (20th street location) for our infant. The owner and staff were very caring and competent. The center was safe. Our child loved it there. Lots of activities. She hit all her developmental milestones right on schedule, if not early. Japanese language immersion and good home cooked meals. If we hadn’t moved out of state, we would have stayed with Yoko’s until our child aged out of the program. I highly recommend this daycare."

"Our son attended Yoko's since he was 4 months old till just recently when he started Pre-K (3K). It wasn't an easy transition for him because all he has known was Yoko's. The love and care that all the teachers have shown him through the years. If I'm not mistaken, our son truly believes that Yoko's is his other family. The first week of attending pre-k, all he can talk about was how much he miss his friends by naming their names and pretending to call them on his play phone. He would also go on to name all the teachers and tell us all the things they did together. We couldn't thank all the teachers enough and we know that all the new children attending Yoko's will be lucky to be part of the community."

"We're very happy with Yoko's Daycare. Our son goes to the location on 19th St, and it's been successful for him and us. We started him there 2 days a week when he turned 2 because my husband wanted to reinforce Japanese. We stayed at the daycare with him the first day, for just a few hours. The lead teacher, Nao Sensei, was very good at drawing him into activities and helping him feel part of the group. There was some crying at drop-off in the second week but since then it's been smooth sailing. Now he gets excited when I tell him it's a daycare day and asks to go even when it's not. He loves the food, and I like that they send photos throughout the day so I can see what he's up to. I also like that even though the inside space is small, he gets to play outside in the backyard every day the weather is nice. Now if only he would use silverware at home the way I know he does at daycare....."

"As a parent living in the Park Slope area with two kids, we have been to a number of daycares, but our favorite is Yoko's Daycare. We've been sending our daughter here since she was 7 months old, and we love it! All of the teachers here teach with love, smiles and laughter, and it shows. The facilities here are clean and well maintained. We frequently get sent photos and videos of kids singing, laughing and playing. And during these difficult times, we were confident that Yoko's would keep our kids safe—and they did. The workers mask up, there are frequent temperature checks and they follow the CDC for updates and guidance. They also have a 2 to 1 ratio of teachers to kids, so your child will get the proper amount of care and attention. So if you're looking for a daycare to take care of your child with love and affection, Yoko's is it. Our daughter (now 2.5) is extremely happy! And we have Yoko's to thank for that."

"Our son has been coming to Yoko’s since he was 5 months and we couldn’t be happier! This is an excellent family daycare center with loving and caring teachers. He’s always napped better with them than at home, they do lots of activities, reading, dancing, drawing, music. He is always excited at drop off, smiling at pick up and talks about his teachers when he’s not with them. We cannot recommend Yoko’s enough. Thank you!"
