Reviews
"The food was just OK. It wasn’t the worst and it wasn’t the best. I ordered the veggie pan fried noodles. The noodles were kind of soggy and not crispy at all the way I would expect pan fried noodles to be. The flavor was bland, and no extra sauces were provided for the noodles. I also ordered the pork buns which were OK. Nothing to write home about. I ordered the food to be delivered and I asked them specifically to provide utensils, because I was not at home. They did not provide me with utensils that I requested so that kind of annoyed me because I had to go out of my way to go find a place that had utensils, and this could’ve been avoided if they would’ve just provided utensils. Simple things like that go a long way."
"We came here on a Thursday afternoon, midday. Unfortunately, they had run out of all of the vegetarian dumpling options that are listed on the website. So we ordered the pan fried vegetarian buns, vegetable pan fried noodles, and the scallion pancakes. The food was okay. The scallion pancake was made of a chewy dough but it was so thin that it was mostly quite crispy and the scallions were just placed on top. The veggies in the noodles were fresh. The buns were the right degree of soft and chewy and filled with what looked like spinach. However, none of the dishes were that flavorful and the noodles and pancake were a bit too oily for my taste. The interior is surprisingly spacious; minimalist and casual. Sometimes a robot brings you your food which is fun"
"Loved the whole experience. First we came for a coffee and quick snack ,because we had very little time to spare. Coffee and tea with milk was delicious, and we had tham with a few buns right there in the waiting area on the bench by the window . No one said a word to us. We came later for Dimsum and were served by Kitten robot (very cute) actually waitress put plates on the table, but rolling speaking robot added nice touch."
"I came to Dimmer & Summer with my friend for a Saturday dinner. I unfortunately was disappointed quite a bit with the food. I was specifically disappointed with the flavor, or better said the lack there of, and the fact that 2 things that I asked for were not available (custard sesame balls & tapioca drinks). As a vegetarian I ordered the: - pan fried vegetable mini buns ($8.95) - scallion pancake ($8.95) - mango pomelo sago ($9.95) Although the presentation and size of both dishes were good, the dishes lacked flavor. I’ve had way better tasting scallion pancakes at other restaurants and the filling of the buns were just boring to me. The mango ponelo sago drink was sweet and fruity, what I asked for, but not worth that price to me. The robot bringing the food is cute, but unless you’re a kid, it’s really not that entertaining. The restaurant itself looks cute and the toilets were clean. Staff was kind. I personally don’t see myself going back here, but that doesn’t mean I won’t recommend other people to give it a try and visit."
"Delicious, interesting, fresh modern take on dim sum. Love the little robot cat server that brings food to your table - a cute little gimmick. The rainbow shrimp dumplings were, however, not just a gimmick. Each had a unique and interesting flavor - would highly recommend those as well as the exceptional sesame custard balls."
