"Great place to take your toddlers and small children on the weekends. Recommend getting a yearly membership and visiting in the winter when you need an indoor activity.for a few hours."
"The overall experience was great for the price. The museum has an extensive miniature display worth seeing. My 3 year old son enjoyed it. The Polar Express train ride was enjoyable as well since we watched the movie before the train ride at home and this made the experience more special. The music, story being read aloud and the picture book being shown during the reading helped us remember the parts in the movie. When Santa came by he interacted with the kids as well as the staff. Overall putting everything together, it was worth the money."
"A LOT of stuff here. I feel like this museum could be culled by a knowledgeable curator to make it more educational overall. It is too much to take in and seems to have an identity crisis. Is it a rail museum? If so why the abundance of cars and telephones and various household kitchen goods? A strong editorial hand is needed to bring this place to the next level. Right now it's like visiting someone's aunt's attic clean out. Choose a focus and stick with it. Terrific model train set is the deserved centerpiece but the exhibits along the walls are overwhelmed by too much stuff. An example: luggage from the railroad travel era - great - but one strong exhibit would be enough. Another example: lanterns for the signalman a smaller selection of color and a few styles would suffice along with a short explanation of what would be used when and where. Just because someone donated an item does not mean it needs to be displayed. One could actually learn a lot from things this museum holds if the presentation were more coherent and CONCISE."
"Stunning!! Never imagined they would have such an incredibly huge HO scale model railroad layout in here, I've seen large layouts before but never this big. And all around the rooms, from floor-to-ceiling, all of the different displays that are grouped by theme... There was something for everyone. A lot of railroad / firefighter/military items on display. Staff were incredible"
