Westside Pediatric Group

"If I could give this place a 0 I would. The receptionists are extremely rude and ghetto. My daughter was a patient of Dr. Volk for years, unfortunately Dr. Volk left the practice so we decided to try out another pediatrician recommended by my sister. We then decided to call Westside Pediatric Group to try to return to this practice since the doctor recommended by my sister was distant from our house. This is how the conversation between my husband and the receptionist went: Husband: Hi, I need to make an appointment for my daughter. Receptionist: (After obtaining name and date of birth) Umm... you may want to call the mom. Husband: She was the one who told me to call. Receptionist: Well! Your daughter is not a patient here, she transferred out. Husband: Can we transfer back in? Receptionist: Nope! Once you transfer out that's it, you're done! Husband: Really?? Ok, I'll take my insurance somewhere else. We had been dealing with the attitude from the receptionists for years because we loved Dr. Volk. I'm now glad we left this ghetto practice. Just wanted to share our experience with everyone out there. We all deserve to be treated with respect. These people are incompetent and need to be retrained."

"Very sad . After being apart of this office for 32 years as a patient myself and now my children I have decided to leave . Not because of the doctors but the front staff is awful . Rude and they make you feel very unwelcome. All 3 of them that sit upfront . And even calling them to make an appointment is uncomfortable. It’s very sad because the doctors here are great and so are the nurses ."

"I love Westside Pediatric. They are always patient with me and help me find the best answer for the issue with my kids. They take the extra step to follow up with my child's needs. My child's doctor just recently retired and I am happy with our new doctor. All the other doctors are wonderful too. I really trust all of their advice and my kids are lucky to have such an exceptional team to take care of them. All the ladies at the receptionist desk are so kind and go above and beyond what is necessary. I am grateful for everything that they do. I always feel in good hands!"

"Great practice. We see Dr. Hughes and love her. Usually have same day appts when your child is ill. They know when to refer out to a specialist. When my children have an issue and I call the nurse line, Dr. Hughes will sometimes call me back herself (vs. one of the nurses). My kids actually like going to the doctor. I had to take one of my kids to the ER and she also followed up with us. They also still visit your newborn in the hospital. A lot of practices don't anymore"

"Great Pediatric office! The doctors and nurses are the best. Friendly, understanding, compassionate. They are open flexible hours and see sick children evenings and weekends too. They understand that kids don't get sick between 9 and 5 only. The support staff works with you to schedule well and sick child visits around your schedule. Highly recommend as the best Pediatric office around."
