"Called this morning trying to get an appointment. Went through the "pass you along process". Explained situation to nurse who said he/she would pass along info to my "team" and they would call back. NO CALL. Called back around 3 in the afternoon. Same routine and was told to hang on and they would try to call "my team" and see if they could answer. NO LUCK. It's now 7:00 PM. NO CALL. Totally disappointing."

"Absolutely terrible VA services. Don't even bother with mental health help, they don't answer the phone or 'forget' to call back (yes, a secretary literally told me she just forgot to call me) and then the provider I had cancelled three times in a row. After five months I demanded to see someone via community care they referred me to inpatient care. When I called they had no record of the VA placing me for an appointment, only inpatient. See the Vet Center for actual mental health care. Additionally, no one answers the phone. I am writing this review because at this point it has been 40 minutes on hold to fill a prescription. 23 veterans a day, I wonder how many the Calkins Clinic is directly to blame for."

"This VA has gone from Bad to Worse! Their automated phone system is terrible with long wait times & poor service. Try getting an appt to see a Doctor or Nurse it takes months. They do not follow up with patients pharmacy needs and often send the meds that the patient does not need! I have seen 4 different Doctors in 2 years. The workers there are getting paid well by our US Govt. but provide SUBPAR services to our VETS! New Bldg worse service!"

"Beautiful facility with great care. I've received primary care, mental health, audiology and pharmacy services. The poor reviews seem to reflect a lack of understanding of VA service requirements and availability of community care (urgent care) and other services."

"As long as you have no health issues and just need your annual check-up, vaccinations, etc. this place is fine. Beautiful new building. But the old building was much more reflective of the rot inside the VA system. As soon as you have a real physical health problem, they dismiss and ignore you. When you repeatedly ask for help for your real physical problems, they continue to dismiss you until they get annoyed by you repeatedly asking for help. Then they are annoyed and make note that you are a complicated and non-compliant patient. Even after you seek a second opinion and find out that you were correct, that you do have a legitimate physically injury causing you pain that needs treatment, they still treat you like you are causing THEM problems. THEY are the complicated and non-compliant ones, taking billions in tax dollars and pretending to care and help veterans. If you can, get care outside of the VA Finger Lakes system. I've used another VA system when I lived in a different region of the country and they were great."
