"We were kicked out of this office for being honest. This office never communicates with parents or patients and makes continuous mistakes. They never call back and refuse to work with you. They just expect you to inconvenience yourself to make up for their incompetence. They schedule appointments a year in advance, then call you the week before because the "provider", not doctor, but "provider", is not available. Then why make the appointments do far ahead?!? When our son was having seizures, they wanted us to wait 4 months to get us into a specialist and we were told "that's what you get for being in a rural area." Seriously!!! My son was having sudden and unexplainable seizures and you want us as parents to WAIT?!?!? Most recently, they changed their procedures for check INS and didn't inform anyone, so when we were told it was a virtual appointment and no one showed, they told us it was actually in-person and "too bad so sad". I then called and reemed them for inconveniencing our schedule and our son's school routine and that I was not paying a no show fee. 2 days later we received a letter that we were no longer welcome at their practice. So, you were wrong, you made a mistake, you are not providing the best service and care possible, and when I call you out on it, instead of reflecting and trying to do better, you just cut 2 children loose (one who is on regular medication) and expect us to get into another doctor that easily?!?! We're lucky our children have been relatively healthy because I would trust a back alley ghetto doctor more than this place. Good riddance."

"I am giving this 5-star to Doctor Henderson. He was so good with my baby, so friendly, and he always checked everything and answered all questions when my husband and I asked. But the receptionists and nurses were always grumpy and non-friendly. And I never saw smile at the babies or kids there."

"Awful. Doctors never see the kids. They allow all the low paid NP’s to do all the work. They’ve misdiagnosed my kids multiple times. We’ve had to go to Syracuse to get a diagnosis. They’ve had my kids in their practice for 10 years and I’m so happy we got out of there. Just awful. Find someplace else. Anywhere."

"So far, so good! We’ve, unfortunately, had to make several sick appointments, as one of our children tends to get sick very easily during the school year. We’ve never had an issue with getting our kids in the day they needed to be seen, and we’ve never had any issues whatsoever with how we’re treated or talked to by any of the staff. I am the granddaughter of one of our areas very first nurse practitioners and I am a firm believer in treating our healthcare workers with respect, even in moments of high stress when our children aren’t feeling well. It’s important to have a good, working relationship with your healthcare providers to ensure mutual understanding and respect as well as avoid conflict and so that they know that you are your child’s advocate and so that you can work with them to find solutions to treat your child-after all, they are the health professional. In all of my experiences in life, being rude has never gotten anyone anywhere- and most people aren’t turned away for no reason. So after reading some of the negative reviews, it seems like there was likely some lack of communication somewhere when that’s the exact opposite of the experience so many others have had, myself included. I absolutely recommend Utica Pediatrics to friends and family, just as it was recommended to me by my cousin (also on the same side of the family with the nurse practitioner grandmother!)"

"I love Dr. Henderson, he is the sole reason I stay at this practice. He is amazing and answers all of my questions, concerns and is never dismissive. Unfortunately I give the ancillary staff a lower rating. His front staff have been rude on multiple occasions and act as if you are bothering them. We have had multiple nurses be unwelcoming and less than understanding when a young child is nervous and having difficulty cooperating. This is a pediatricians office that deals with children. I would think being kind and patient are priority qualities for staff. If these qualities are important to you when you are looking for a practice I would look else where."
