Tradewinds Education Center is a primary school located at 1601 Armory Drive in Utica, New York, United States. Our New Discoveries Learning Center offers exceptional preschool education services for children in Utica and Rome, focusing on preparing them for Kindergarten through hands-on experiences and structured routines. Children with identified disabilities learn alongside their typically developing peers in an inclusive environment. Our Master’s level teachers and caregivers have backgrounds in early childhood and special education, providing therapy interventions such as speech, occupational, and physical therapy. Families are welcome to visit at any time, with no appointment necessary.

The Tradewinds Education Center is committed to providing excellence in education for children aged 5 to 21 with severe behavioral and/or developmental disabilities. Approved by the New York State Education Department, our goal is to help students develop skills for a more independent future. Our program emphasizes a therapeutic environment, focusing on social skills, communication, and overall development. Students explore career options through vocational programs and participate in various activities such as art, music therapy, and occupational education.

Our state-of-the-art learning centers include classrooms, a gymnasium, outdoor recreation areas, a library, and a cafeteria. We also host annual prom and graduation ceremonies for students to celebrate special occasions. Our staff includes specialists in developmental disabilities, special education teachers, therapists, nurses, psychologists, and administrators.
