"I contacted this office in September and did my intake interview over the phone. A month later I had to email them to see what the next step was since no one had contacted me and they apologized and told me I was on a wait list. I asked if they thought I should find another office for therapy as I am in dire need (which was evident during my intake interview) and no one replied to that email at all. Makes me feel even worse than I did before I reached out for help."
"Yiyao has been a great therapist who has assisted tremendously in my healing journey. They have given me an open space to be comfortable to express myself and my concerns. I have progressed a lot in my mental health journey thanks to Yiyao and they've made me realize a lot within myself that I have not been able to achieve with any other therapists prior."
"Yiyao is my therapist and I appreciate their counseling because they understand my cultural background and immigrant issues (sadly rare in the therapy world and I've had extremely frustrating experiences with other therapists trying to explain cultural norms); they ask what my therapy goals are and guide me back towards these goals in an easy way when I am perhaps trying to dodge talking about things I find uncomfortable; and they meet me where I am in a non-judgemental way. I feel like I have made more progress with Yiyao in a little under a year than in therapy for literally years with other people. 10/10 recommend."
"I saw Y*yao for about a year. They would dramatically yawn (without covering their mouth with hand) at least 3 times during each session. I didn’t want to be rude and say please stop yawning while I’m sharing my stories. But every time they’d yawn, it would shut down my emotions. I’d be get in my head. I have issues confronting people. (Going to this therapist didn’t help this…) - my response to the below message. It is not my responsibility to teach your therapists about bad manners. They also frequently needed to reschedule appointments."
"They ghosted me twice lol I had a video consultation with Shinong at the end of July. We had a pleasant conversation, I told her what I was dealing with and that I wanted to see Huilin. Shinong said that Huilin would have availability in two weeks around mid August, and Shinong would email me out about scheduling. I filled out all the intake forms and sent them right after. By August 14th I still hadn’t heard back from them, so I emailed Shinong again. She said sorry for the confusion, and that Yiyao was on vacation and tried to schedule me with Yiyao. I said no, I wanted to see Huilin because she really is best equipped to help me with my treatment and I know for a fact she’s covered by my insurance. Shinong said that Huilin would have availability in 2 weeks and would email me back about scheduling. Another two weeks passed, and now it’s the end of August and I never heard back. I really have no idea why this happened. Like I said, my initial consultation was lovely and they seemed very responsive and open. I’m wondering if it’s because I am on medicaid and they didn’t want to deal with my insurance and I’m not a profitable patient. I really can’t think of any other reason why they would ghost like this. Huilin was the only EMDR therapist my insurance covered, so this is very disheartening."
