"CCBDT seemed an excellent choice and our experience was excellent until the therapist we had worked with left CCBDT to open a private practice. We where assigned a new therapist who was prefectly fine however we did not have the same connection as with the original therapist. When we requested a change of therapist everything changed and management became a stone wall. The "team" would meet and call us on the transition. No one called us week after week and several followup telephone calls. The team seemed to drop us like a bad habit. No communication, no compassion, no caring. Only a business transaction. CCBDT did help us but as we came on a tough patch and we lost our original therapist, we were quickly moved to the trash bin. The therapy I discribe above was for a young person who had struggled for years. He had decided to get better and we were confident that CCBDT was the best. We will not allow CCBDT to knock us off our path. And they could have upset his progress badly but we left CCBDT after only three weeks of being ignored."
"My experience at CCDBT was only positive and it has helped make my life better. The people who answer the phones were super nice and very professional and they got me in to see a therapist much faster than I was expecting. They have started doing DBT groups in person now, which is really great, although the Zoom group that I was it at first was okay too. And my individual therapist was VERY engaged in helping me and I cannot say enough good things about her. These people are doing REAL DBT and you should definitely have no hesitation in calling them."
"I am so happy to have been in the DBT program. It was the best thing I ever did with my daughter. Every family should go through DBT. It is a brilliant model having the parents participate in learning DBT in group with their teens. I am very grateful to CCDBT and I am glad for the help."
"I cannot say enough positive things about CCDBT. I was pretty lost for a while, but now I am back on track with my life. From the people who answer the phones to the therapists to the people who run the DBT classes, everyone was great. They really work together, so it is better than going to a therapist who is solo. Now I have skills for my emotions that will stay with me the rest of my life. Thank you, CCDBT. Everyone else can feel confident to call them. EDIT: I still thank CCDBT every day for the help I got."
"Absolutely unskilled and untrained staff. ALL of her good staff eventually leaves and she is left with trainees that have not ever worked in clinics before. They're called clinical externs. Absolutely during my time here my mental state deteriorated and it deteriorated FAST. No foul to the untrained youth that she hires for peanuts, but it's not a place i would recommend if you have pretty significant traumas. I actually ran into an employee at the apple store on 5th avenue who was telling me about this place (random I know) that she had gotten DBT therapy from before. She said her therapist Lisa (the owner) made her mental state worse in several ways but one story that stood out was that Lisa told her, my apple support person and former client of this place (a person with body image and weight issues) that if she can't have a nice body and love her body she should go to the beach and admire other women's bodies that she doesn't have. I was STUNNED that I met someone in a pubic setting who had also had the worst experience here. Lisa has the personality of a cardboard box and her face is frozen in time. She licks her lips while talking and it will make you feel uncomfortable. If lizard people exist she is one of them. I would give her one star for REALLY knowing the group stuff and the way she interprets the DBT book. She is as old as a dinosaur and with that comes understanding and some wisdom, but she definitely loses staff and clients regularly and there is clearly a reason for this. Please seek treatment elsewhere."
