"I just recently came home after a weeks stay at Helen Hayes Rehab Hospital. I normally don’t write reviews but after my rehab for a hip replacement I would be remiss if I didn’t write to tell of the absolutely incredible care I was given there from the entire staff. From the nurses, to the aides, to the PT and OT personnel, to the dietary staff, to the cleaning staff, to the case manager, to the nurse practitioner, the recreational staff. I hope that I haven’t neglected to thank any other staff members. They were all kind, professional, patient and courteous while performing their duties. They were well appreciated. I would certainly recommend this facility for the best top notch care. Thank you."

"The rehab has a strong reputation and reviews so I aimed mom will have a great help there, unfortunately I didn’t see except discrimination against her. PT was good but my mother has a brain stroke and stayed for a month there and the result is my mom can’t even sit in bed, doesn’t walk, doesn’t eat solid food, and left the place with her hair totally destroyed. They didn’t shower her for 2 weeks and when I complained they said she has refused, they send her out for non emergency CT in a freezing weather wearing only a goin and hospital blanket. They send her home without arranging for home aid or even called after to check on her. On Christmas they cut her Christmas flowers and thrown it in the bathroom and argued over few minor Christmas decorations. Also their nurse said my mother had elevated white blood cells and the nurse director and doctor denied it. Case manager Tina isn’t helpful at all and said she contacted mom’s insurance to arrange for home aid but she never did and left for the Christmas and new year and this has led to delay and mom left without aid. If your parents or partner are seniors don’t put them there it will be completely useless and painful experience."

"Although I think they provide good structured therapy, they took horrible care of my mother. They left her alone in the shower and she fell. Took 3 people to get her up. Then they refused to let her walk despite being cleared that she was okay. Causing her to become weaker. And yet they wanted to push her out and discharge her 2 days later while still weak. They do not provide proper assistance for actual rehab outside of the PT sessions and provided an UNSAFE environment. Do not recommend this place for subacute rehab."

"A historic place! A lovely campus – no question – but I haven't been thrilled with staffing and organization. Collectively, a solid four stars."
