"I had this doctor while I was giving birth and honestly the worst experience ever! She’s very rude and uncaring. As I was giving birth she had no compassion and was telling me “stop yelling it not going to help!” After giving birth I’m on the phone talking and she was still saying rude remarks and no one asked her. She was just overall horrible. It’s sad really!"
"Well I reported this woman (Halstead) years ago and for some reason the State of New York Dept. Health are still not convinced of how awful this woman really is towards her patients. So sad. This was 2009 and my daughter is now 11. I am so disappointed that she has not stopped treating people so horribly. She does not deserve a STAR. But in order for me to post this I had to bite the bullet. That was our first child and the memories are still bad when I think about it! Please DO NOT waste your time, go to someone who truly cares about your experience."
"My experience with this office hasn’t been great. I was recommended by a family member to this office for Dr Raine but only Kelley Halstead was available at the time. I kept an open mind & was very lenient with how things were being done in the beginning because of COVID.. but things got tiring really quickly. This was my first pregnancy and in the beginning my partner wasn’t allowed to experience any sonograms with me... the technician was very negligent as well. I didn’t get to see my baby active on the monitor until I was 6 months and they wouldn’t let me record or FaceTime any family members. The wait times were almost always over 2 hours, appointment and all. And I had to chase the office down for any results. Whenever a urine culture would come back abnormal... I would never receive a call and actually had to go to the emergency room three times because of symptoms that worsened. I rescheduled one of my appointments because I wasn’t feeling well & the next time I went in , Dr. Halstead came at me kind’ve condescendingly and told me that my level 2 scan showed that my baby had a shadow on his heart. I wasn’t notified at all but somehow she tried to blame me for not coming in because it was “too late” to schedule another appointment at the hospital and I had to wait till 30 weeks to check again. My next appointment for another level two scan at Presbyterian... the technician basically confirmed that this was falsified information and that information was never written in her report. My baby’s heart never showed a shadow and she must’ve mixed my file with someone else before confirming. Also during after hour emergency calls, I didn’t receive any calls back from her and I felt very dismissed. There are wayyyyy more situations that I can address with this office that were seemingly unprofessional and I felt could have been handled better. Overall both the office and Doctor need to undergo some improvements ..."
"Terrible bedside manner. She listed my options for fibroid treatment like stereo instructions or a script she was tired of repeating. Then, she was so flippant saying, "I mean, we could do the surgery but, you know, I might just have to take your whole uterus, it depends on if I have enough of it left to stitch back together." like she was talking about a car engine. Never asked if I wanted kids or had family plans. It took me starting to cry for her to soften a little. I would never go back to her. I don't care how good a surgeon you are, when discussing the risks of surgery, you should have at least some indication of the impact that can have on someone. And it's sad because I really, REALLY like the rest of the office staff. I read the other reviews of people who loved her and maybe she's better with pregnant women? IDK"
"At first she seemed very harsh. But she's just straight forward. And I can appreciate that. Once we got to talking things lightened up and I knew at that moment I wanted this woman to be my permanent OBGYN. She took her time and went over dos and don'ts of pregnancy. No other doctor at the practice did this. She told me about books I can read. She was very compassionate. She understood that I was completely lost and offered so much advice. Can't wait til my next visit. Wouldn't want to go through this pregnancy with any other doctor."
