"I had a pleasant experience up until I decided to have a water birth which is not provided at Northwell. After expressing this to Dr. Valerie Altmann she became unpleasant and almost defensive. Furthermore, after transferring my care I’m now being sent bills that are listed as “out of network” which makes no sense because everything was done in Dr. Altmann’s office. At this point I feel this is an unethical attack as a patients because when preforming these tests/scans she did not relay that it would be out of network the ONLY thing she stated that may be out of network is genetic testing. Word of advice take caution to what Dr. Altmann advises and the testing she requests for you, ensure you confirm with your insurance before taking the service. Pregnancy is not always easy but then to have to encounter such a devious physician in the process is very upsetting."

"Worse place ever really unprofessional. You can never reach anyone is just leave a message. Don’t waste your time just because this place is affiliated with LIJ. Dr. Altmann is really rude and doesn’t explain or shows that even cares for you as a patient. It’s like you there they just do the basic and that’s it. This is my first pregnancy and I didn’t feel comfortable at all. She’s not even friendly there is so much concern and as a doctor she don’t have time to care it’s just always quick so they can move on to the next person. Even when you ask questions about your concern it’s not given much importance."

"Dr Altman is an amazing doctor. She was my doctor for both my babies and she delivered my first. During delivery, she was there from start to finish and she was such a pleasure to have around. My baby became breech and she guided me to have a procedure to turn the baby for labor to avoid c section. She was also present during that procedure. I’m so happy that she was my doctor."

"Dr Altman is truly a great doctor. However - the rating being so low is primarily due to unprofessional front desk, assistant and nurses. Sadly - after being patient for over 10 years and putting up with 3-4 months later appointments, I must rethink my own healthcare. I am posting this in hopes of letting the management of the office know that they need to train their staff so they don’t pick up phone and not even say hello for 15 seconds. Then not even listen to what I am saying and ask “you wanted a Spanish person right.” Perhaps should have listened to me before asking such question. After repeating my name for 4 times say so I have appointment 4 months later - “so you are not having any problem right?” After I requested to speak to the nurse and explain my concern. She transferred me back to a male receptionist to repeat my problem. Seriously where is the patient care there. If Dr Altman moves her practice I will totally follow but the mgmt of this clinic is nothing more than running a factory at this point. Saldly I have to post a bad review for such an amazing doctor."
