"Communication between myself and Impact Center for scheduling purposes is almost non existent. The pickleball courts are ok. The nets are on wheels and there are moveable barriers between the courts and basketball court that I’ve tripped on multiple times while playing pickleball. But, like stated, the communication with Andrea L. In regards to scheduling is horrible. Will not go back. Ever! Will try Tru Pickleball in Latham, even though it’s a little further."
"2 stars is harsh, maybe it's a 2.5. Sports complex wise, this place is nice, but spectator wise, it's garbage. This place handcuffs you and your athlete to garbage fried food, pizza, or some other junk after making you pay admission to watch your kid play. Offer some affordable, somewhat healthy options, buy a few more stools to put up around your railing, and work on the efficiency of your services operations. This place could be world class if they didn't extort their customers."
"Imagine a place (mostly) backed by an NBA PLAYER!!!! With 6 basketball courts and 18 hoops, that you can never actually play basketball at, unless you show up at 6 a.m. on a Tuesday? (Or at a time when most under 65 are AT WORK) And when they do have basketball, imagine this same place only opening ONE COURT OUTTA 6!!!!!....SIX!!!!! And don't go by the online schedule, because they don't....definitely call ahead or ,unfortunately, just go to the YMCA..."
"I'm so disgusted with the staff especially the higher ups including the directors names specifically Alex, Grant, Kennedy & Andrea. Our experience and situation was very bad and we didn't even get to use this facility. After multiple volleyball tryouts this summer my daughter needed something with less pressure because she has a passion for volleyball and we felt IMPACT ATHLETICS would provide what we were looking for. So I researched and paid the full 6 week program for $125 basically. On October 6th 2023 we went to the facility and mind you my daughter has severe PTSD & ANXIETY she's an agoraphobic so leaving the house showing up I was so proud. We sat in the parking lot an hour early and she got her stuff on started getting really upset and explained she just can't get out of the car, I knew I couldn't pressure her or force her and even if I did how was I forcing her to participate? So I went into the building spoke to 2 ladies at the desk and explained my situation. They said they leave a message for the manager to get back to me. First I received a response email from Alex stating NO refunds if you don't cancel 24 - 48 hours prior & I couldn't understand how were like they're regular policy and procedures because we DID SHOW UP We were there but what was I really supposed to do? So then I debate the answer I received and it goes up the chain all the way to Andrea the director yesterday on Nov 7 2023 she calls to say we don't ever offer a credit but we are and I explained there's literally NOTHING in their facility which interests my kids or family. We didn't just choose not to participate or deliberately cancel we even showed up. I'm a single mom with 7 kids including 3 of us battling cancer and lots of mental health challenges. I was taught to make the effort and only way to get past fear is to TRY which we did. She gave me excuses how another kid couldn't get a spot and the coach was paid and they're just excuses. They could afford to reverse and refund my $125 and every excuse in the book so now I am initiating a chargeback with my bank as well as writing a very long sad review on the BBB as well because if you read this its so wrong. It's an excuse and we were definitely a different situation. These people have no class no care no remorse or compassion for kids with mental health issues and mind you this is a 16 year old who now never wants to participate when it comes to volleyball again. Impact Atletics I will share your discriminatory despicable attitude towards the mentally challenged community everywhere I can because this is unacceptable practices and something should be done. It also seems I'm not the only one regarding people having very poor experiences with this facility and ALL their staff members. What a SHAME, I wonder how they're still in business. I'm disgusted with their practices and bedside manner. Please SHARE this review and get justice for those they just dismiss and look at as a paycheck."
"The place is impressive but that is all they have going for them. I am a volleyball parent. Have been traveling the country with my three daughters for over a decade- literally been to scores of tournaments, big and small so I have a lot of comparisons. I appreciate that these venues are in the business to make money- I get it and that is fine; however, Impact takes it to the next level. First off the people who work there are robots- in need of some serious customer service training. It all begins when you arrive. The parking situation is abhorrent and God forbid you try and improvise, the security will be on you like if you tried to jump the fence at the White House- and damn rude. Then you go in and they check the kids bags more thoroughly than the TSA. Again, I get it that they do not want "foreign" food entering the premises. However, the players have limited time between games in some instances and may be limited to buy a above market Gatorade. A personal example is I came with my family- there were 6 of us. My daughter who was 9 at the time, was only coming in for 10-15 minutes until her grandmother came to pick he up. I paid the fees for my family and asked for some dispensation for my youngest- no can do- again, rude about it. The snack bar - I think the food is good and priced what you would expect. They just need more workers and maybe do away with the $10 smoothies that take a while to make. Overall, the venue is nice, clean, organized but the staff needs improvement. It is not fun and there is a feeling of being rushed and watched. Unfortunately this is one of the only venues of this type in the area so pretty much forced to go there. It is nice what BB star Kevin Huerter has done for the local community and he is an investor in Impact- hopefully he will take notice that his venue is sucking some of the fun out of playing sports."
