"I came in for a facial as I had received a gift card for the holidays from a friend. When booking, I put the gift card number in the comments as instructed. No one let me know I couldn’t use my gift card until after the service was finished. My provider recommended an add on to my service which I said yes to only in anticipation that I was going to use my gift card. She also continuously asked about my job when I let her know I’m a tax accountant which only caused me more stress rather than relaxation. After all of that, I still had to pay for the entire service even though hand and stone had plenty of opportunity to let me know I couldn’t use my gift card. I was also pressured to buy a product which no one let me know the price of they just charged the card on file. This place is a scam."
"I had a gift certificate for a massage that redeemed at the Williamsburg location. I booked online and called the day before to confirm my gift certificate was still valid. I arrived 15 minutes ahead of my appointment time only to see that the front door was locked, the lights were off and no one was inside. My appointment time was 11:00 am and the spa opened at 9:00 am so I was very confused as to why no one was there. After waiting for about 10 minutes I was approached by someone who worked at the spa and was also confused as to why no one was there. He didn't have a key to get in so we were stuck outside. After another 10 minutes of waiting I decided to leave but as I was leaving another spa employee arrived and was able to let us in. I was able to get my service, 20 minutes after my scheduled time, and was assured the owner, Dylan, would contact me the next day to apologize personally for my experience. To date, it's been almost a week and I haven't heard from anyone. Unfortunately my cousin has had a similar experience at this same location so it seems like there are clear issues that need to be addressed. My service that day was comped so I technically should have an unused certificate but I definitely won't be returning to a spa that clearly has managerial and staff issues they don't seem too concerned about correcting. Both my massage therapist, Sean, and the esthetician who let us in the building were very sweet and apologetic, they're unfortunately subject to the same issues as customers because their manager(s) and fellow staff members are unwilling or unable to do their jobs correctly."
"I recently visited for a facial using a gift card received as a birthday present. Initially, my scheduled appointment was canceled without prior notice, causing inconvenience. After rescheduling and finally enjoying the facial, I must commend Dilcia for her exceptional service, which seems to be the saving grace for this establishment. However, upon settling the bill with my $129 gift voucher, I was informed that the facial price had increased to $149. Despite being unprepared for the price difference, I reluctantly paid the additional fee without raising the issue, just to conclude my experience at the spa. I regret that the situation couldn't have been more satisfactory, there are plenty other spas in the area that honor appointments and have transparent pricing policies."
"The first poor massage I received here I figured shame on them. The second time around - shame on me! After 02 very unsatisfying massages here I cannot recommend this location to anyone. You're in and out in less than 60 minutes, it felt more like a lotion rub-down than a massage (no deep-tissue work), and the therapist had very bizarre practices that ultimately left me feeling a little uncomfortable on the table. I even wrote a private message expressing my disappointment in the service and it went unanswered. Save yourself the money and get a massage that's 3 times as good for 1/3 of the price at one of the countless privately-owned massage studios in the city."
