"If you have found this place and this review along with the others, you are very fortunate and can stop right here and make an appointment with Dr. Druz. But, of course if you are like me, you won’t do that. You will read all the reviews – one more amazing than the next. This year, I lost three of my most trusted doctors - my cardiologist, my primary care physician who retired, and my functional physician who passed away. I felt lost without them. But they say, "When God closes a door, He opens a window," and did He EVER! I did a search on Google for an Integrative Cardiologist and Dr. Regina Druz's name came up. A board-certified cardiologist who is traditionally schooled at Weill Cornell and NY Presbyterian PLUS a certified Functional medicine practitioner with integrative training at Duke. I’m thinking, “Can this really be true, not only here in New York but on Long Island where I live?” I do a lot of medical research, and I have rarely seen this combination anywhere, even in the more Functional Medicine locations like Florida, Arizona, California, or especially due to Covid, some other practically inaccessible place for me. My first visit was thorough, both as a physical exam and discussion. Dr. Druz answered all my questions in detail – and let me tell you—like the Joan Domin review below, I ask a lot of questions. Dr. Druz focused in on my stubborn high lipids and ordered appropriate tests (blood, genetic, tomography) to begin the search for the root cause of these blood markers and their relationship to my heart health. Wait a minute, did I just say “search for the ROOT CAUSE?” When is the last time you heard that come from a traditionally trained cardiologist? But that is the beauty of complementary medicine, and Dr. Druz has an encompassing knowledge of both! My second visit focused on the results of my tests. Before this visit, I did a lot of research and was being torn between the alternative views and the traditional views of therapies. Research is a wonderful thing, but it can also be a “curse,” in that almost every opinion one way has an opposing opinion the other way. It was creating an anxiety in me I wasn’t used to. There was not one question Dr. Druz could not answer, not one alternative therapy, scientific research or doctor she was not knowledgeable about. In fact, she knew some of these doctors personally. I came in conflated with all the possible and opposing paths that had been proposed or researched, and emerged single-minded and confident. What a comfort it was not to have to be pulled in one direction or the other, but to establish a plan TOGETHER that encompasses the best and most logical of each discipline. Again I stop – did I say “establish a plan together?” Yes. Dr. Druz is adamant about shared-decision making. Imagine that?! Really, what more could you ask for? “More confirmation,” you say? Just read the reviews below. I can concur with every positive statement. "Dr Druz is very thorough. She uses various methods to get to the cause of your issues and uses a combination approach of meds and supplements when needed. Dr Druz holds very interesting Zoom talks with her patients enlightening us on current tools and scientific studies on COVID-19 and any other health concerns.
