Massage Envy

"I was not going to waste my time reviewing this place but in keeping quiet I'm enabling this type of behavior at a professional establishment--which needs to be held accountable for their actions. The manager at this location is rude and unprofessional. He purposely hides appointments and saves them for certain customers of his liking. The customer service girls are not friendly but ok to deal with if you just go in and keep it short with them. This location is very cold and they don't care about being friendly except to certain customers of their liking. I've had a membership with this ME for more than three years I first started at Hoboken, then opened another one in Edgewater. I have always loved this company and their services in NJ. I decided to give Scarsdale a chance since I am now closer to this location. At first it was fine and I tried different staffs until I was able to find one I preferred. I stumbled upon Alonzo--who is amazing and has magical hands! At first it was hard to book with him since he's so popular but then eventually as I started to go more to this location I was able to get sessions with him. At first, every time the manager was there he would check me out and when I tried to book my next session with Alonzo he always told me nothing was available. So, I would leave with no appointment. I would later call during the week and was able to get a session-- I didn’t think too much into it until I started noticing a pattern. One day while at the location during the morning I was told by the manager that Alonzo was fully booked for the following month –I could not believe it. So, I decided to call later that night around 6/630p and I spoke to one of the girls at the counter and I was told there was many options for me to choose from since his schedule was just opened that morning. I was also told by the girl that I could book sessions on the app—which confused me as the manager had previously told me Alonzo could only be booked in person or over the phone. Since that last encounter I’ve gone around booking sessions with the girls over the phone instead of the manager. And I have successfully had been able to book monthly 90min sessions with Alonzo consistently. The manager noticed and I guess he didn’t like it. In Sept 2023 my 90 min session--that I booked a month in advance was cancelled without my permission. I was never provided an explanation via email or voicemail. I decided to call to find out what had happened and why my session was cancelled. I was rudely told by one of the girls that I was no longer allowed to book sessions with Alonzo since this location is not my home location for the membership. I explained to her that I’m still a member regardless of my home location being in Edgewater, NJ and I even tried explaining that I pay the differential membership fee every time I book at this location. But all she could say is, "the manager left a message in your account to not book you with Alonzo because he is only available for members of this location. And that I could only book with other therapists.” I tried calling to speak to the manager numerous times and I even emailed and till this day no response. Now its been 5 months since then and I’ve chosen to not go back to this location and waste my money on a company that doesn’t value all of their customers."
