"If I could give it a zero I would. Total money grab. You too may find yourself in such a position hoping that the "professionals" will help. Not here. Never verified my insurance. Nightmare. Never gave me any counseling other than coloring in badly made print outs with no workable pens. Super long story short. NYS will take everything from you. Beware of this place."
"I walked in off the street for assistance with marijuana and alcohol when things got out of hand for me. I found this place to be incredibly unprofessional, and could barely stand to sit through my first two intake hours (yes, they need 2 hours to fill out some paperwork, hour 1, and then ask you some simple background questions, hour 2). The receptionist sits in a dusty office without a window where anyone who isn't busy working or smoking is hanging out, and standing in your way. I wasn't even sure she was the receptionist my first time there, and sat in the waiting room for several minutes waiting for her room to clear out before asking. Then while I'm giving her my personal, confidential, and frankly embarassing information, a guy pokes his head in the door "I don't know if anyone cares, but the DOW just lost 500 points." No, I don't care, and I wanted to slam the door in his face. Then when I showed up for my sessions, the counselor left me waiting in the waiting room until more than 15 minutes after my start time. I asked the receptionist what was going on. "Oh, she is probably out smoking." Nice. I didn't say anything to her that time, but she could tell I was annoyed. The next time when I waited until nearly 20 after, and she could tell I was annoyed, I told her I don't like sitting for 20 minutes while my session is supposed to be underway. Then she tries to turn it around on me and says "It can be hard to be understanding sometimes. I have things I need to do after a group session to be ready," as she's digging through a pile of folders looking for mine. Right. I asked "Is there a time I can set up that isn't after a group session so we can start promptly?" "If it bothers you that much you don't have to come here," she says. Fine. "Can I just get my money back and cancel this session then?" Yep. What a waste of time."
"If I could give them zero stars I would. Two months ago I began seeking help for a substance abuse problem. They offered me medication assisted treatment I took it. A month later the meds turned on me. The side effects were unbearable I had several discussions with the doctor and my councilor about it but they insisted that I was doing something wrong. This went on for three more weeks. Finally I couldn’t take it and demanded to be switched off the medication. They immediately dropped me as a patient. This place doesn’t care about you unless you go along with their cookie cutter agenda. Disgusted."
