"Graduated there 2004, by that time it was already under performing. I could tell that it had a rich history and most of the teachers appreciated their job. The cultural degeneration especially among the students did it in. Too bad."
"I couldn't believe it when I read that Jamaica High School had closed last year. I graduated in 1969. I still have my Jamaica High winter coat hanging in my closet. All the recent reviews are that of a school that was entirely different from the one I attended from 1966 to 1969. It's a shame that students in the school's later years didn't get to enjoy the same experience, and good education, in what was once a truly exceptional public high school. R.I.P. Jamaica High :-("
"Well I didn't go to jamaica high school. I went to one of the small schools that is now in the school. But it is nice. My school is hillside arts and letters academy. The school is very close knit and the teachers really care about the students. There should be more effort though to prepare the students applying to college and scholarships."
