After the closure, M.S. 113 was replaced by several small schools including Young Scholars Academy, MS 370 School of Diplomacy, the Globe School for Environmental Research, and FORWARD School of Creative Writing. In 2016, the School of Diplomacy and the Globe School for Environmental Research merged to form the Leaders of Tomorrow School.
Despite its challenges, M.S. 113 had a principal who cared deeply for the students and worked hard to guide them in the right direction. Families and school experts continue to engage with each other to share information and ask questions about the school.
