"Do not send your child here. The teachers are disrespectful to you and most of them have no idea what they are teaching. Also, Truman controls all of the extracurricular activities while this school only controls half of a floor. Lastly, the teachers are very unorganized. They will mess up ur grades and take forever to correct it. Don't come to this school, it is a waste of time and your life will be filled with stress!!!!"
"I was robbed out of my HS experience, I went here back in 2006 and at the time I was pregnant. I missed a few months of school and fell behind on my classes. I was still attending school everyday after I gave birth and was willing and able to catch up. They were more worried about the perfect image of the school than worried about helping their students actually learn and succeed. One day they called my friend and I into the office, they spoke to us about this amazing “other HS” who would help us recover our credits and graduate on time. They made this other school sound promising. They even gave us bus fair to get there for an “interview” when we arrived at this other “HS” turns out this was a GED program and now there was no way of me getting back in Bronx Health Sciences. They would often call my mother and tell her I was an underachiever, which I was not. My mom was always upset with me because of all the BS the principal and vice principal would put in her head. I HATED this school. I hated everyday that I was there. It’s crazy to read more than 10 years later they’re still doing things like this."
"Went here. At first, I liked the school but the more time I spent there, I noticed how they really were. Some teachers teach subjects they don’t have degrees for, you can ask them yourself. Even though school is to start at 8:00, you have to report there at 7:15 in order to participate in gym which is just consisted of walking around the basement and collecting green sticks. During my sophomore year, I started to receive a low grade in a class that I should’ve been passing, come to find out, the teacher had been entering grades wrong. When I brought this to his attention, he did not fix his mistake. I reported this to the guidance councilor, principal and assistant principal, they did not fix this either. However, if you show up 15 minutes late, they turn this into a way bigger situation. If you want your child to go to a school they will enjoy, send them anywhere but here. And if they need to go to a zoned school in the area, Truman is a way better option that will give your child many more positive experiences that will help them later on in life."
"This school lied and said that we needed to wear gym uniform and in reality all you have to do is walk around Truman’s basement to collect four sticks . The gym outfit is still in my drawer. 10/10 would not recommend."
"DO NOT SEND YOUR CHIlD HERE! I was robbed of my high school experience. The teachers down to the vice principal... rude! They blame students for things that staff are responsible for and they also lack extra curricular activities. In addition to that, they put way too much pressure on students expecting them to obtain 420 hours of health related community service hours and 56 credits opposed to a normal school which only requires 44 ... all that to go to a school that is only on half of a floor. They have assemblies in the lunch room :| ... that's how small the school is..."
