"Had to learn that VISIONS is officially retaliation nation. They don’t want you speaking on their mess, advocating for the people we support, nor make suggestions for improvement. They praise one building on campus, collect money per person and yet they refuse to invest in the other fraction of the property. The bosses speak down on the people we support and staff. On lions day, they had staff helping Lions instead of the people we are here to support. On Lions day, they had the Lions sitting under cabanas for shade while most of our older clients suffered in the sun. Lions and CEOs were on line to grab their lunches befor the clients, meanwhile it was past their lunch time. The bosses do not greet our people we support. They walk in rooms and walk walk right out without speaking. The bosses refers workers as mentally unstable, other, scammers and more. Even call the cops on young black men. Bosses refer to female staff as “sir”. The list goes on. Bosses doesn’t respect confidentiality. The program manager hands off liquor to the dining hall supervisor. Then Inwhich he’s intoxicated and couldn’t perform his job well. Not enough first aid kits, there’s mold, rust , and asbestos. The water would change your ph balance. The food will get you sick. I’ve seen the Chef microwave bacon, serve it raw and slimey after showing up late consistently. Full-Time staff is never held accountable for not doing their jobs throughout the year. Every year they get more money, more donations, and yet nothing changes on campus. Down to the program manager begging the people we support for donations on their first day of arrival. Distasteful. How about offering me a full-time position that I signed a contract for and filled out all the paperwork for. Then months later, while I’m already working, while I’m asking about my benefits. Visions decided to make a new contract and renamed my position “Temporary Full-time.” Now in terms of retaliation. If you start to address bosses and higher-ups about safety Issues, upkeep, and conditions of facilities… They will fire you. Then they force you off campus and tell you not to tell anybody. There’s so much more to tell. More staff to speak up. Most importantly, the people we support has made complaints as well."
"Love, love and love this camp...many thanks to the organizers for inviting us. I have three disabled children all due to vision and the visions have been very helpful in supporting us and once again thanks to them for including us in the camp."
