"Excellent place for vets who served in the military like my father"
"2014 All the Staff seem Genuine, Polite, Professional, and Experienced. Very Happy. 2022 Staff has been slashed. Takes over 2 months to get certain results now. Many of my favorite staff have burned out and left. What friends I have that still work here say there has been a lot of staff cuts and new negative changes from administration causing all the problems. I am seriously thinking about dumping them. However, the problem is defiantly not caused by the front line people trying to take care of me. I have never felt like my team did not care about me or wasn't trying to do everything they could for me. It's more of a money/policy issue."
"As long as you have no health issues and just need your annual check-up, vaccinations, etc. this place is fine. However as soon as you have a real physical health problem, they dismiss and ignore you. When you repeatedly ask for help for your real physical problems, they continue to dismiss you until they get annoyed by you repeatedly asking for help. Then they are annoyed and make note that you are a complicated and non-compliant patient. Even after you seek a second opinion and find out that you were correct, that you do have a legitimate physically injury causing you pain that needs treatment, they still treat you like you are causing THEM problems. THEY are the complicated and non-compliant ones, taking billions in tax dollars and pretending to care and help veterans. If you can, get care outside of the VA Finger Lakes system. I've used another VA system when I lived in a different region of the country and they were great."
"My life was saved at the Canandaigua Veterans Administration Hospital in 1991. Thirty plus years without a drink. The town itself is a great community for those getting sober. I had my last beer sitting in front of that column on the right. Thank You."
"I’ve been going to the Cdga VA hospital for about a decade now! Everything went extremely well until I was assigned Dr Potts as my Primary care Dr! I was treated as a second class citizen when I inquired as to the appointment process! Dr Potts yelled very loudly into the hallway so the secretaries could hear that she had no control over the appt process and that she couldn’t fire anyone. Very loudly! I never once asked if she could fire anyone. I was simply voicing my concern. I requested and was assigned a different Dr because I didn’t feel safe working with her! Her replacement is what I have come to expect from the Cdga Va hospital! Very accommodating and very concerned! No Veteran should feel uncomfortable with their Dr the way I felt seeing Dr Potts!"
