"My daughter had lab work collected at this location on 1/22/24. We experienced terrible communication and basic consideration and respect by Mickie. My minor daughter was not made aware by her medical provider that she was sending over a lab script for a urine test as well as a blood test. Upon being made aware of this, my daughter attempted go give a urine sample. She was only able to provide a small amount. Mickie stated to myself and my 17 year old daughter that she could not submit the blood test for analysis until she had a substantial urine sample (she explained the amunt needed was about just under half of the urine collection cup). She stated to myself and my daughter that she was sending my daughter into school with a cup to collect urine throughout the day and for me to bring it in later before 3:30 when they closed. As a healthcare provider myself, this was appalling! I think this goes without having to say but a person can NOT carry a cup with bodily fluids around with them in school for sanitation and health reasons, as well as the urine would have been useless for testing as it would've had to have been kept refrigerated to prevent bacterial grown from occurring. I made alternate arrangements regarding my own personal responsibilities, discussed a plan with her doctor and jumped through a degree of hoops to get this urine sample set to be brought back to the plebotimist. I contacted her the morning of 1/24/24 to inform her that her doctor said she could sent the blood specimen for analysis regardless of the urine specimen requested. Before I could even finish explaining who I was when she answered the phone, she cut me off and said "Oh I had enough after all and sent both specimens on for analysis the day you were in here." I was shocked. I asked if if we were to have blood work done with her as her technician, if she could please contact me if ever things changed like that again. I didn't even get to finish asking her for this courtesy when she again abruptly cut me off telling me "I have a patient waiting." As I recall my daughter was her patient. As part of her job when she realized she had enough urine to send, she should have looked at the number provided in her chart and called me to update me on the new information so I could disregard her last instruction to get a large sample to bring there. She made it clear to myself AND my daughter the day we were there that no specimens wod be sent for analysis results until I completed her request and without those results her doctor would not continue to prescribe her necessary medication. As a healthcare provider myself I find behavior terrible but even more unprofessional for her to then not take responsibility for her inaction that caused unnecessary consequences to her patient and caregiver. The cherry on top was her dismissal for my very polite request for a courtesy call if a similar situation were to occur in the future. My advice: Do better, be better."
"Incredibly fast, efficient and friendly. I hope they never leave the Amsterdam location."
"Super fast, professional, and phlebotomist is super nice. I always go here as it's always the fastest option and nice that you can make same day appointments."
"Mickie is great- always pleasant! Easy to book appointments and always on time and quick. Sad we moved away from this location. Much nicer than other Labcorps I've been to in the past."
