"I did go to this school. It was really hard for me to learn there without getting a tutor. The food there sometimes are expired. They could afford things we don't need that cost so much money but they can't afford things we need that cost that much money. I did like it at the beginning cause I did make a lot of friends but then it went downhill from them. It feels like they don't teach us anything barely. We need better teachers and better things we can learn with. I give this school 3 stars. I don't really recommend your child coming here, but if you don't care about your child's education and health put them here."
"This school is great cause it is really pretty and there are alot of staff and helpers. The thing I hate in every school is that I hate lockdowns"
"This school was one of the worst I have ever been to. I originally came to this school in the second grade. Our teacher was there for two weeks and then left. She would occasionally come back but would have to leave again. I think that its sad that we knew our substitute teacher better than we knew her. The friends that I kept that were in this school told me that she left for more three months when I was gone. The principal didn't know any of the names of the kids and school and frankly didn't care. The administration looked tired and sad. The worst thing was that most of the teachers actually cared about the well-being of the students however they could only do so little for the students due to the administration. I applied to a private school and my teacher had to fill out the recommendation behind the back of the principal.because it was against the rules. I was bullied and laughed at for being smart and the only entrenchment program was for the G and T students who immediately were chosen to become school valu-saludictorian. Life at P.S. 182 was a bore and I was able to fall asleep in my class and wake up 10 minutes later to and I still would be ahead of the class. I went to special tutoring to get ready for the State Tests. The teachers failed to maintain an orderly classroom where fights broke out often and a boy innapropiatley touched a girl. Most kids didn't have a say in what elementary schools that they went to and although P.S. 182 was an okay school, it deserves two stars"
"This school needs a microscopic look at the practices and inadequate procedures in reference to classroom structure, curriculum assistance and parent-teacher relationships. The school is properly equipped with staff for students with learning disabilities and students that may need a little more attention that others. The IEP system is flawed with lazy workers that find every excuse in the book not to have your child evaluated so that they can have the necessary help to be a star student. Though the parental rights state clearly in black and white that parents can come and observe the classroom at any time, we are not allowed to do so. When a child is not behaving in the classroom, the redirection methods are not conducive to the child learning anything that is pertinent to their educational development. It took 3 years of requesting services for my son, whom is very bright, has a speech impediment and is a poor tester--for me to receive any feedback. I go to a meeting about the process, but none of the actions within the process have taken place. As a result, my son is not receiving the proper services that can lead to him showing how bright he is via his report card. Dates are promised, yet moved further and further into the year. I'm very upset with this school that claims to "Reach for the Stars" but only by stepping on the children that are different."
"In size this school is great since its small. Being small however seems to work against them. They lack resources and the skill set to cope with any children seeking extra help. The principals way of coping with any child struggling with work, behavior or any other issue is by stating these words " This is an educational institution" Yes it is an educational institution and each and every child should be able to receive one at this school wiether it takes them longer to learn the ABC's , share or control their emotions. They constantly call a parent for any child who cries out for help rather than helping. They will meet and meet and meet with you with no idea of how to remedy the issue at hand. They are not teaching children how to deal with situations and other ways to express themselves instead they make them feel inferior and treat them as if they are walking into a jail and the Principal is just the warden."
