"The Garden City, NY location: This morning, I had blood & urine drawn and was in and out so fast! Donna is the best, at the front desk! As usual, she was friendly, polite, professional, efficient, etc! Denise is the best, too! I'm always a little nervous when I have to get blood drawn, but Denise found my vein, quickly, and I did not feel a thing. She's wonderful, polite, friendly, professional, efficient, as well! Everything good that a patient is looking for Donna & Denise delivers. Both are real assets to their professions and to Sunrise Medical Labs. Thank you Donna & Denise!"

"Sunrise Medical Labs engage in billing malpractice; the amount they try to scam is small, but please double check with your provider before paying. My partner and I paid for immigration health check service at a local clinic in full, as insurance policy does not cover this kind of expenditure. We received billing in a small amount ($20ish) from Sunrise Medical Lab for a lab test that was listed as already paid in full on our receipt from the clinic. They sent the bill three times, and we called to notify them that this was a mistake. The customer service representatives raised their voice, refused to listen to reason, kept insisting on us giving them our health insurance information, and then just hanged up. My partner then went in person to the local clinic and was told that indeed the bill was wrong. My partner then called Sunrise on the spot, the physician at the clinic spoke directly to the same woman who hanged up on us, who then put a pause our accounts, to prevent this erroneous billing from impacting our credit score while the clinic's billing department sorts the situation out. The clinic told us that other patients have complained to them for similar billing problems, and the clinic is actually considering terminating their contract with Sunrise Medical Labs due to the Labs' dubious practice and its negative impact on the clinic's reputation. It seems that many people have overpaid without looking into it, since the amount is so small (multiple Yelp reviews). But then again, $20 multiplied by the number of clinics and their patients could result in a rather sizable amount. Due to the small individual amount they try to scam, this could be the reason why they have not yet been reported to the police for their malpractice. One way to protect yourself is to look at the billing/benefit statement of your health insurance, as the amount that Sunrise Medical Labs mistakenly charged was not listed on the health insurance statement I received for the period. I suspect that insurance company is quite a bit savvier at detecting fraud, but individuals are a lot more exposed to these micro-scamming practice."
"Received a 379 dollar bill in the mail for my blood work, called in to try to get the bill reduced. They refused, I paid it and then they sent a duplicate bill with the same exact bloodwork 2 weeks later in the amount of $60. I thought they had reduced the bill but they actually are billing me for the same bloodwork again. Steer clear."
"Sunrise Medical Laboratories are fairly efficient when you plan your visit around busy hours to avoid long lines and waiting times. Every experience has been good so far, except for my most recent bloodwork visit. I offered the nurse my "easy vein" arm, but she told me she couldn't see my vein and kept hitting at it. She then tightened the rubber hose so very tight that circulation was cut off, leaving my arm incapacitated and in extreme pain for days. More than half of my arm was very dark deeply bruised, which concerned me about potential clots. It's been nearly 3 weeks since this experience, and my arm is still bruised along the back and it still hurts to bend. Since this was a one-off experience, I recommend to management and staff not to tie these hoses so tight when drawing blood."
