Reviews of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Pediatrics - Winston East
"Each visit is a pleasure! The staff and Dr Dockery-Howard always make it a comfortable and informative visit. Also its almost like visiting family! We have been going for 16 years and will continue until my children age out of pediatrician age!"
"My children and my grandchildren have came here since birth. I wouldn't have EVER taken them anywhere else.We have loved the doctors and nurses. We're family, Courtney is the best, my grandchildren love her they run to her and tell her they love her she is the best nurse she goes above and beyond and they only want to see her, and Eleanor they are the best. The doctors are on a hallway and the rooms are across from each other so the nurse comes out of the room and talks to the doctor while the doctor is at her computer station this has always been the way it works. They are very busy and sometimes it's hard to get worked in but they are the best they are our family and we would NEVER leave them"
"It’s not a good feeling to catch your child’s Doctor talking to another Nurse outside the door about you as a parent when all I did as a parent was asked the nurse to re-do my sons blood pressure because the cuff was not on correctly in order to give a accurate reading and requested also to please check my sons height. The nurse got a attitude and displayed through body language frustration along with eye rolling and mumbling. This same nurse went to another nurse that we have seen for awhile named (Courtne)and talked to her about my request to re-take blood pressure and my request for a height check. I was in the treatment room and was able to hear my sons doctor discussing it with this nurse about me. What’s unprofessional is the attitude received from the nurse for my request. My son has had issues with his blood pressure so I wanted to ensure it was a accurate reading. The doctor should have spoken to me and not talked behind my back if there was a problem. The same nurse who had the attitude (can not remember her name) also hollers out in open hallways where others can hear my sons reason for the appointment . As a healthcare worker myself I know that Hippa rules would have required you to discuss a clients condition in a treatment room, not in open hallways where other non-clinical individuals can hear. The other nurse (Courtne) also now brought in by this nurse to discuss me and we have seen this nurse before so I was highly disappointed in her behavior. She (Courtne) approached me as I was leaving very loudly and said rudely to me that her co-worker the nurse was upset about my request and wanted to know the issue. Courtne was not at all trying to listen to what I had to say because she had already determined I was in the wrong for asking the nurse for those request because my son was just there for a follow up but she said what it was again my son was there for in a open area… again..no “patient confidentiality” and hippa rule broken again. I should have been talked to in a treatment room for confidentiality of my sons medical information if that was going to be discussed.…what surprised me about Courtne was that she was even more louder than the first nurse because she was upset but did not give a fair opportunity to hear my side without consistently interrupting me with sharp answers to what I was trying to explain. I saw how I was being yelled at and decided to exit and never return. I did not wish to get into a argument or battle of yelling in front of my child so we left. I called the office manager of this practice and I never received a call. The nurse Courtne had informed me during her encounter that the office manager is barely there …so I guess that means I would not recieve a call and I haven’t. I asked the doctor why she did not speak to her nurse about her behavior and she ignored what I asked and proceeded to finish her appointment with my son. She had no apology for what occurred and seemed to rush our visit along. I have noticed a huge decline in service at this office. The check in staff is friendly but you don’t always get that from staff in the back. This was the WORST experience I have ever had. I have signed my son up for another pediatric office and will not recommend anyone to this office. I hope Courtne and the nurse who provided care in vitals to my child as well as the Doctor will not do this to others. So disappointed in the service and, lack of professionalism."
"They assumed that the information that was giving to them was the truth but was not also they sit around the office talking about people and their information which is against the privacy act and voluntary information to other people without permission which against the HIPAA LAW. Slandering a person name without correct information or facts. Never contacted the person to inform them of the allegations that were been said was true before forming on conclusion and then to spread the information of the patient and caregiver. DO NOT TRUST THEM AS PROFESSIONALS, because they are not!!!!!!! I APPRECIATE THAT THEY HAVE DONE THESE THINGS BECAUSE NOW I HAVE A CHANCE TO REVEAL THE TRUTH IN COURT!!"
"Every time I call the office, I can never get in touch with anyone. They say the line is connected to an answering service. It’s very inconvenient. You spend 10+ minutes just waiting for an answer. When I brought my son for his physical, the door to the building was locked, and of course no one answered the phone. We will be switching to a different practice."
