"All the reviews about host being rude & bad service? They’re all true. I was taking my spouse out on his birthday to this restaurant. We were reviewing the menu at our room. Smiling, happy, having a fabulous day in this oasis that is Fire Island. We left for dinner and showed up to this restaurant right at opening. Aside from a couple people sitting at the bar, the restaurant was empty. Not ONE single table booked. Despite this fact, the host told us he would not give us a window seat / table. Every single table in the house was open & empty. Every. Single. One. However he refused us any window seat / table of the bay. Let me repeat, at the restaurant called Cherrys on the Bay, we were refused a table showing the Bay, despite, every, single, table, in, the, entire, restaurant, being, available. Safe to say we’ll just avoid this place going forward. We did end up having some awesome pizza right next door though!"

"Honestly, one of the top 10 best meals I’ve had in my life, and it takes a lot for me to say that! Food was fresh, delicious, and an appropriate serving size. I could’ve eaten another whole bowl of the spinach risotto and will be dreaming about it! Service was fantastic- I have several food allergies and our waiter was more than happy to make the kitchen aware. As Fire Islanders for 30+ years, this is the best meal you will get on Fire Island! We will absolutely be back!"

"We were there recently on June 30th and we had a superb dinner. It was a birthday celebration for myself and my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there. Our server was excellent and everybody that serviced our table did an excellent job so we're really happy that we went there. Will definitely come back when we're in Fire Island"

"We were very impressed. The quality of the food and drinks were top notch and the service was great. We got the truffle lobster Mac and cheese, beet salad, lobster dinner special, short ribs, creme brûlée, flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. The lobster Mac was excellent. Not too big when sharing so it didn’t make you feel full. The beet salad was also really nice. It came with goat cheese and candied walnuts. The lobster special was a whole lobster, with mussels, clams, fingerling potatoes, and an ear of corn in a white wine sauce. It was perfect. The lobster was conveniently cracked so we could easily get the meat. The short rib was tender and had an amazing flavor and came with roasted carrots. The creme brûlée was homemade and is a must try. One of my favorites that I’ve had. Cloudless cake was great and even the ice cream was a very good quality ice cream. Our server was super friendly and attentive, the ambiance is great with a lovely view. Even the plating of the dishes were really nice. Definitely a highlight. I felt for what your getting the prices aren’t bad at all."
