"Marina is great! Been getting my hair cuts with her for a while now and she never disappoints!"
"Marina had her assistant touch up my roots that should have been ash brown she colored them hat black. She didn’t speak English at all only Russian. And she talked on FaceTime with a woman the entire time I was in there so unprofessional. I don’t think she has a license to apply color products to hair. My color looks awful. I told her to wash it out she had no idea what I was saying and was annoyed I was disturbing her video call"
"Had to stop by while in NY for the weekend! They took such good care of my hair! My hair is so much healthier! The before and after photos are incredible. Linda is my favorite! She did such a great balayage. Highly recommend visiting this salon! They also offer massages ❤️"
"I got my haircut and am so disappointed with both the cut and the interactions with my stylist. The person that washed my hair was great! She was thorough and it was relaxing. The star in this review is for her. I then had my haircut by Marina, owner and head stylist. She asked if it was my first time there. I said yes, that I had not had my haircut in over a year because of Covid, so I was excited to have a change. I showed her about 8 photos saying I would like something fun, young and a little edgy. I mentioned that I used to have pixies, mohawks, and sharp asymmetrical bobs so I like funky cuts. I said, "You're the stylist and know what will look good on me, so something along the lines of these photos, but you can sort of surprise me." Her body language while you talk to her is very inattentive and rushed as if she's not really listening. She did not ask any questions about my lifestyle or hair routine. As a new client, I thought she would try to get to know me a little to pick a fitting style for me. Maybe since I was flexible on the cut, she was just ready to get started and didn't want to ask anything? She cut off about 6" of hair (totally fine! All of the styles I showed were short and I am happy to lose the length). I assumed she was going to add layers, texture, some asymmetry... something! After shortening the hair to all one length, she thinned it out a bit and was finished. It took longer to wash my hair than the time she spent cutting it. She blow dried my hair using a large round brush and curled all of the ends under which looked nothing like the photos I provided and took the cape off. I said, "You're finished?" a bit surprised. And she replied, "Next time, give me a harder hair style". Thinking that she had perhaps forgotten what the pictures looked like, I pulled my phone out to show her the pics again and asked "Well what would you do next time?" Thinking that as she saw the pics for a second time she would see that my mushroom shaped hair looked nothing like the ANY of the pictures. She replied, "I don't know, I'd have to think about it." Then pointed to the most simple style and said, "I gave you this one. The only reason hers looks like that is because she has pomade in it". If that is true, she should have put product in my hair and showed me how to style it so I would know how to make it look like that. She didn't. At one point, she asked if it was ok to make one side longer. I said, "Yes, definitely! I love asymmetry!" She said she'd make the left side longer. In leaving, my hair was the same length all the way around. No angle, no asymmetry, not ONE SINGLE layer. All of the images I showed had layers, many were angled/asymmetrical. ZERO of the photos had the edges blown curled under. I was given the most simple and basic bob with blown under edges. I left looking like I had a mushroom cap on my head (like a 1998 soccer mom/housewife from a suburb in the south). I didn't write a review the first day thinking maybe after I and style it myself, I'll like it more. I looked like a mushroom because of the blow-dry. But Marina said my haircut would look like one of the pictures with some product. So the next day I dried my hair straighter and almost cried. There is a chunk of hair on my right side that is an inch longer than everywhere else. Mistakes happen. Fine. I'll trim that myself. But if you're going to give the most simple haircut, it had better be executed well and it's not. The right side is longer, not in a cute stylish way, just an awkward/sloppy way and it's jagged across the back. Sadly, if you are a new client, Marina isn't going to spend time getting to know you and what you like and dislike. She didn't ask any questions about me. In giving her some flexibility, I thought I'd end up with something fun and different. Instead, I just got a bad basic cut. Marina is not mean, but I genuinely do not think that she understands how her demeanor, tone, body language and attitude come across to her clients. I understand that no custom service will be perfect, but this was a big let down."
"I am so glad that I found this salon! I had amazing experience and wanna say that Marina has golden arms because she cuts best bob. Really recommended this place, you will be happy after :) Absolutely happy, thank you, Marina. Manicure and pedicure was good with Sasi."
