"My haircut was choppy and uneven, with huge chunks sticking out everywhere where she’d tried to layer my hair. It’s a much worse haircut than when I cut the exact same style myself during the pandemic. It’s not “I can’t ever leave my house again” bad, but I feel completely embarrassed by it. Even the bottom hairline was uneven, and asymmetrical from left to right. She did not ever comb the left & right sides up so that she could cut them at the same time, something I’ve seen every other hairdresser do throughout my life. She didn’t consult me about the style before washing my hair, never checked in with me if the length was correct, where to put the part, etc. She just didn’t act like a hairdresser who knows what she’s doing. Even if it weren’t sloppy, it’s still 1” longer than what I asked for, and not quite the right shape. I’m going to be cutting my hair myself to fix the mess so it’s at least no longer ragged. The salon isn’t a disaster inside, but it’s very cluttered, in need of repairs, and definitely long overdue for a good cleaning. I was really hot and uncomfortable during my cut because the sun was beating in through the windows right on me, and there were no shades or blinds. My hairdresser – whose name I don’t know – was pleasant, but the other hairdresser left her chair to take a video call while she was with a client. The only reason it’s not a 1 star is because the service was pleasant enough, I was able to get an appointment the next day, and the cut was only $30. But I think this salon is only worth it for a cut if you can’t afford better and are physically unable to cut your hair yourself. Otherwise, find a better salon or just cut it yourself, which is what I’m going to be doing anyways – the day after paying them to do it for me. :/"
