"The physicians here are dangerous. They do not believe in science, they tell patients they are getting better when they know they are not and they refuse to send patients to the ER when they know they need to be in the ER all so they can get the financial gain by bringing them into the office everyday. They give medications without proper assessments, such as types of therapy that can cause severe in-fact deadly lung complications without ever looking at their lungs prior to giving it. Patients in the middle of crisis are advised to come to the office every day for treatment they do not have just so the patient won’t go to the hospital. They have no crash cart, no defibrillator, no ambu bag if something goes wrong. They talk down to their nurses, and they have an LPN running the chemo suite alone all because she is married to the pa and is the can do no wrong one. They do not care for patient safety at all. I would never go here for myself nor would I ever recommend anyone to these physicians. **** update , after receiving a threatening letter from a non litigation attorney stating he was going to sue me back on July(nothing came of it) my medical complaint was continued to be investigated. MULTIPLE other nurses left the practice along with pharmacy techs who filed their own complaints to the pharmacy board. Now after my medical complaint was closed with consequences 7 months later, I received a notice that he is now Retaliating and filed a Fraudulent claim against my nursing license. If this is not CLEAR retaliation I don’t know what is. Dr Mitchell YOU SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO PRACTICE MEDICINE. IF HE IS YOUR PHYSICIAN GET ANOTHER OPINION*****"

"Former Employee: If you are looking for a place to call home, you have found it. SOS is the best company I have ever worked for and the ONLY reason I am leaving is due to personal issues. Sarah is an exceptional leader, who always goes above and beyond for the employees, providers, and patients. The whole SOS team is like family to me and will forever hold a special place in my heart. If you are looking to find an excellent HEM/ONC office, you have found it, you will not get better care. The SOS staff from top to bottom will make sure they go the extra mile to get you the care you deserve. When healthcare is taking a turn for the worst, SOS is exceeding expectations by always being available. I will never forget the staff and the patients here at SOS."

"Distraught. Please do not use this place for your cancer treatment. Although Dr. Mitchell is charming he did not follow up on my sister-in-law’s treatment. He told her in May of 2021 that “her cancer was treatable, manageable but not curable”. She started immunotherapy and within a short time developed severe diarrhea. She told the staff, everyone what was happening. Finally after losing 30 lbs Dr Mitchell advised her to go to the emergency room. There they took a stool sample and found she had a intestinal infection called C-Diff. But by that point it was too late. Not once did southern oncology take a stool sample. My beautiful sister-in-law died October 9, 2021. Not from cancer but C-Diff. and neglect on the part of the doctor & staff. It was totally preventable her death. I was with her in May for her diagnosis and I knew exactly what Dr. Mitchell said. Be aware of all your symptoms and make sure you are being treated properly. If not find someplace else to go YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT."

"At first I believed that Dr. Mitchell and the whole practice were caring and considerate. That quickly changed, when I was first, put down by one of the nurses for needing my mothers help when I’m sick, then mocked by Xavier because of my age and specific illnesses. Then, worst of all, I was yelled at by Dr. Mitchell, himself, when I was clearly uncomfortable with him not wearing a mask. I did not ask him to put one on, I simply said that if he wasn’t wearing a mask, then I would be much more comfortable making it a video call. I was clearly having an anxiety attack and wanted to leave. Instead of helping, he berated me, yelled that he would not wear a mask and laughed at my discomfort. They are clearly NOT caring, considerate or even concerned with their patients comfort. He had no reason to be so hateful. The whole practice gets a zero in my book. A few of the infusion nurses are great, as is the PA, Caroline. The rest of the practice will easily treat one poorly and laugh about it. Also, the front desk help is the WORST!... I have since been discharged as a patient because the doctor can’t handle his temper. Evidently they don’t want people to know the truth."

"The staff at Southern Oncology are fantastic to deal with. They are very welcoming and professional. From the moment you walk in the door and are greeted by name with out having to say who you are. And Dr. Mitchell has a terrific "bedside" manner. He does every thing he can to relate to his patients and make them feel at ease. Through the help I've received here I have been able to feel rejuvenated. Would definitely recommend this practice to my friends."
