"I went to Tameka for couples counseling with my partner. Things are going very well. We had a few sessions with her. She is extremely personable and very polite. We really enjoyed her a lot. Until one session she cut us very short and left it at about 33 minutes. She seemed to want to get off the phone and was rushing us so we didn’t feel like we had the opportunity to speak so we just let it go. We then talked and decided to email Tameka to let her know that we felt very shut down and that the session did end early. She sent an email back, wanting to talk on the phone , but it was within a few minutes of the time she wanted to speak so we did not get the email. She did follow up saying she was sorry we felt this way but it’s hard to make sure to address all the issues within a 53 to 60 minute timeline. I told her I appreciated the email but it was a short session and I did not want her to misconstrue that. Her immediate response was to say that I was lying and she felt attacked so I needed to find a new therapist. She is fully allowed to not see anyone she doesn’t want to see, which I do not have a problem with, but she made sure to call me a liar when I have evidence to the fact the session ended early. It is also recorded in the Doxy system, which my insurance will be looking into. But I also have documentation on my home security camera where the session ended 20 minutes early with her saying “it looks like you have 20 more minutes left. Are you OK with ending early?” It would’ve been OK if she would have been open to listening and checking back if she didn’t remember the session ended early before calling me a liar, saying she was attacked, that I was trying to talk bad about her business, and she felt “unsafe.” I will happily provide the proof to anyone concerned because I have actual documentation that this is incorrect and simply could’ve been fixed by her apologizing and continuing on and acting professional. That did not occur so I’m here just to warn anyone that she may react in a very unprofessional manner if you try to bring anything to her attention. It’s unfortunate, because we had already developed a relationship with her as a therapist and trusted her, and to be treated like this was very alarming. Good luck to all those seeking counseling. I would not advise this therapist."
